From the Desk of the High Inquisitor

Unread post by Neevah »

The great desk in the office of the Inquisition has been cleared out, and the room smells far better than it had in weeks. Among the waiting stacks of parchment and quill, the sealing wax and the pile of letters yet to be read, there is a leather bound book, a blood red ribbon marking where it was last opened. The sigil of the Grim is burned into the front cover and stained with what most likely is blood.
Khorvis is gone. It is a bitter pill to swallow, to know that another great soldier and devotee to the Mandate is no longer with us. But there is no greater honor or glory than carrying on the work set before us by Maledictus. I have had the peons assist me in cleaning out the great desk, and I had hoped to find something to provide some sort of clue as to where he had gone. All I found was an uncomfortable amount of crudely drawn orc genitalia on rejected letters sent to us by hopeful Aspirants.

Now is not the time to let my thoughts be led astray. The Legion continues their invasion, and they are relentless. They taunt and tempt with promises of power, of longevity and infallibility, but we must not be swayed. We have had success against the disgustingly bloated satyr Xavius, but like other demons he has returned stronger. We will take him down again, and again if need be, and it will be the Grim who will continue to lead the charge in defending Azeroth.

I have already culled the list of Supplicants, weeding out those who have turned tail and fled like the cowards they are. Those who remain show potential, and have proven their talents in battle without fail. To find those few who are moldable in the ways of the Mandate, I will sift through the crap that comes this way. The Mad need us to guide them, whether they realize it or not. In time, they will see the truth.

I've still work to do. The Mandate beckons and I will always answer its call.

By my hand,

High Inquisitor Ruuki,

I congratulate you on your rise in power, and share your feelings of bittersweet sorrow for the loss of Khorvis. I have been seeing the Peons going too and from his office, but I assumed little of it. Given your new charge and office, I have enclosed a small token to adorn your desk. Display it how you please. I swore myself to serve the Inquisition, so feel free to call upon me should you require my more...unique services.

For our lady Sylvanas!
Peace through Anhiliation!

**Attached to the parcel is a small box with pandaren designs, when opened, a pristine necklace lay in a custom display case. The Pendant of Endless Inquisition sparkles slightly with the catch of each ray of light; A token more of symbolic nature than one of vanity**

Ruuki sat at the massive wooden desk, idly fingering the pendant sent as a token from Mai'kull as she mulled over her thoughts. He had been a busy Mage, given the plans he'd recently posted spelling out the planned assault on the Alliance Strongholds. The Exodar, Darnassus and Stormwind were not too great a challenge, but Ironforge... the Dwarves were fast for being no taller than a wine barrel with short legs. It would be a good demonstration of power, and a chance to unify forces with another similar-minded guild. Perhaps the Mad were slowly coming around to see the light of the Mandate, just in their own ways and their own words. No matter, so long as it was the same end result.

She set the pendant down and grabbed parchment and quill, scribbled a short note, and went to tack it to the guild hall alongside Mai'kull's notice regarding the assault.
