((message from Syreena that we wanted to get out to the Grim, I forgot to post it here. Khorvis and Awatu I'm sure ic you're toons would be mad at this (I would be if I was in their shoes), but know that it was done for rp purposes...and it's funny! They let Lilly in!!!!))
"Tell the Lasher I am fine, and I remember what he expected to get from Tes when we got her back. And tell Tes it's not her fault." The priestess repeated Syreena's words. "That's what she said." Syreena's message to her was more than clear, and Lilliana reported this loudly over the Grim's attunement stones as soon as she was far from the Alliance she had dared to play with. For now it seemed as if Syreena would be remaining where she was.
It was only briefly that the priestess had found herself at odds with her own thoughts before she made a decision. She had spied the three Alliance, two human and one dwarf, casually talking at the docks of Fenris Isle while they waited for the ferry to return to pick them up with their supplies. She watched them for a short time and even attempted tinkering with the serious looking one, Symorick's mind. She found wards there so strong that if she tried to break them (which she was certain she could) they would all be alerted. There would be no shadowed mind trickery today. That didn't make Lilliana happy, as for a brief moment she had deluded herself that perhaps she could have numbed the three and convinced them to release Syreena, or at least compromised one of them enough to allow for that to happen.
These three, Marrus, Symorick and Moriggy....they had taken Syreena's freedom as the Grim had taken Skylah's. Each moment that passed where either one was held captive reduced their chance of coming out alive. It was because of this that Lilliana felt an overwhelming desire to see Syreena, so much so that it was clouding her judgment. She should go back, report what she had observed to Awatu, Khorvis and Leyu'jin. But she didn't. Instead she presented herself to the three Alliance. She even handed her beautiful violet staff over to the biggest human, Marrus in one rather bold....and overly foolish, act of diplomacy that was against every fiber of her being. The Grim do not compromise or make concessions, they kill and bring death. But Lilliana was willing to make what appeared as a concession if it would help ensure their death later and assure her that Syreena was still alive.
She could speak common, but it was quite thick with a gnomish accent (however gnomish accents go). She spoke before the three males, and convinced them of her sincerity - proving her desperate desire to see that Syreena was well. Deceit and deception work best when they are interwoven with sparks of truth, and Lilliana's love for the rogue was in all corners filled with honesty. But the rest of it, her agreement to lay down arms, her rejection that she had been at all involved in Skylah's treatment....these were fluid and graceful lies. She may not dare mind control either of these three, but she still had her voice and sometimes nothing worked better than soulful, kind eyes and a young face to sway even the most battle hardened soldier's judgment. This was what Lilliana does.
When the three Alliance actually agreed......AGREED to allow her to see the rogue, Marrus blind folded Lilliana to lead her in. The little dwarf had taken her hand to ensure she didn't fall. It struck her as funny that she would ever be seen holding hands with a dwarf, and she didn't fool herself that she wasn't surprised at their naive kindness. She was almost stricken dumb over it.
They allowed her to meet with Syreena, and even to speak with her as they watched and listened. Their time together was short, but within that time Syreena was able to relay a message to the priestess that was so blatantly obvious while in front of the Alliance. Lilliana noted that they didn’t seem to recognize what was said in between them, and that was good. It was this that she echoed over the Grim attunement stones so that Khorvis and the others could hear.
Message from Syreena
Re: Message from Syreena
(Back tracking several days, this is why I didn't post the follow up on the plans made at the last office meeting.)
Shaelie had been working for hours on the tiny mechanical insect that would be the method of delivery to get certain items to Syreena, where she was being held in captivity. The task had proven itself more difficult than anticipated. Several times she had to disassemble the cockrock and search around for parts small enough to fit within it's metal carapace, but large enough to hold the payload inside. It was frustrating work that left her exhausted.
As it turned out, it was a moot point. Hearing the message from Syreena, Shaelie tossed aside the needle nose pliers and leaned back in her chair, wearily rubbing her face. So, it seems, they would wait..

Re: Message from Syreena
Amidst the warm, dry winds of the Northern Barrens, Ul-Rezaj felt the piercing breeze ruffle the tufts of hair sticking out of the corners of his turban. His Dread Raven landed gracefully in Ratchet and the troll slid off the saddle and walked back towards the inn.
Kharthak ran outside with a mug in hand that he threw up cheerfully, spilling some of the alcoholic contents. "Hoy, Ul-Rezaj," he bellowed, "You wouldn't believe the battle that took place in Warsong Gulch along the northern border! We were swarmed. Everyone stood their ground. I knew what I had to do. I helped bring us glorious victory because I-"
"Enough, tell me lateh," the troll interrupted. In truth, he was jealous and, to his surprise, curious about the orc's success, but more pressing issues had come up. "Do you know what be goin' on wit' de plan to rescue Syreena?"
The orc slumped, disheartened. "Yes, yes, but... I don't think you'll like it."
Ul-Rezaj folded his arms. "She be dead, eh," he started to sigh in unrest. "No surprise here. Everyone says de Coalition be out to crush, destroy, and annihilate every single Grim."
Kharthak's brow furrowed in shock. "No," he stated soberly, "That's not at all what happened. It was over the hearthstone. I couldn't believe my ears." He told Ul-Rezaj about Lilliana having gone to visit Syreena in prison.
The troll's jaw dropped. A chill brushed his spine as he folded his arms. "Now ah know de truth behind de Coalition," Ul-Rezaj stated uneasily.
Kharthak raised a suspicious brow. "You do," he inquired.
"Yes, yes," Ul-Rezaj explained, "Eitheh de Coalition be a pushoveh group jus' causin' mischief wit' no real intent o' fulfillin' der goal, o' dey want to expose demselves in ordeh to make it look safe. Some'tin ain't right about dis. A trap, ah think, be in de makin'. A trap tailored specifically to kill Grim."
