Travels

I was given the task, by my mentor Mohan, to travel through Azeroth and learn about spirituality in regards to the various races of the Horde. Throughout my travels, I practiced the values each race held and learned the ways in which they lived.  This is my testimony and I shall begin with the Orcs.

The Orcs have always been misunderstood and labeled as savages and bloodthirsty brainless beings.  Upon living with them for a few days, this assumption was quite the opposite to my surprise.  They carried themselves well and they all spoke with clarity and dignity, with the exception of one but I believe him to be a relative of Bloodscream.  I knew I was not here just to observe Orcish society and it did not take long for the Shamans to show me how in tune the Orcs were with nature.  As I watched these Orcs meditate, it felt like the entire planet moved to their heartbeats, but the best was yet to come.  I joined the orcs around a campfire and began meditating with them.  I closed my eyes but quickly reopened them because of this eerie feeling I had.  I look around and there were animals everywhere.  It seemed the Orcs called out to all life around them and the call was answered.  There were wolves, bears, squirrels, and many other wildlife.  Animals that would normally be trying to kill each other sat by each other’s side.  It was quite amazing.  I could not believe my eyes and a bit of jealousy grew over me as my people never had this ability.

After my time with the Orcs, I had the pleasure of visiting the Tauren of Mulgore.  I have never been much of a Tauren lover because of my misunderstanding of their culture but I must say, my respect for the Tauren has increased significantly.  Most of them were silent, as they were not used to many outsiders intruding in on their home, especially elves.  This was by all means okay with me, as I did not care to do much talking anyway.  As I learned from conversation between the Tauren, they do not care for much bloodshed and warfare, fighting only when they feel the need to.  Like the Orcs, the Tauren are also in tune with nature with Shamans, Druids, Warriors, and Hunters living side by side, however, I was not as lucky as I was with the Orcs so I observed none of their meditation.  I did have the opportunity to learn more about “The Earth Mother.â€
