Punishment for Failure

Hektar, September 8, 2006

Hektar paced back and forth on the top floor of the structure he
had come to call home in Orgrimmar. The lack of exterior walls
left the room open to the city and this had always comforted
Hektar. But nothing could comfort him now.

He had failed to carry out his oath to strike against the black
dragonflight in a way that would be seen as effective. Sure
dozens of their lesser minions in the Spire had been slain,
however their brood mother remained unscathed and their numbers
grew with each day.

Hektar wondered how the one he served would react, would she send
for him? Would she have him slain in his sleep? He stopped pacing
and stepped to teh edge of the room and stared out at the city
below. The moons were full thsi eve and he could clearly see the
movement of his people below. His people he had let down.

Suddenly a shadow came over him, the light of the moons blocked
from reaching him. Hektar looked up just in time to see the huge
red talon reach into his hut and close around him with such force
that he thought every bone in his body would break.

Hektar was lifted from the structure and carried up, he could not
see much, and his breathing was stopped by the crushing of the
giant talon, he drifted into unconciousness, the last noises he
heard were that of huge beating wings.

Now he would pay for his failure, and no doubt the penalty would
be death.
