A World Spinning

Lupen - May 28, 2006

Death, sorrow, pain, revolving around one's person.

"Lupen! Lupen! Come!" "Come with us Lupen! Come to the Nether!"
"We need you here, brother! Come to the Hellfires!" Lupen heard
the voices wherever he went, they swarmed around his mind like a
hive of enraged silithid. He had been able to ignore it for about
two days, when the voices began screaming to him... But now, now,
he could hardly take it anymore. "Why..." He muttered to himself
while preparing to finish off a fallen Elf Rogue he had stumbled
across. "WHY! Why do you taunt me?!" He spoke not to the now
lifeless Elf, but to his own subconcious. "Please..." He knelt
down and begged. "Give me a release, end this!" Suddenly, the
voices became louder, angrier, more violent. "Lupen! Whelp, you
disgrace us!" "Coward! Child! Fool!" He tapped his Hearthstone,
returning to the Orc city... The crowd would surely drown the
voices!

"No..." He began to sweat as his feelings of fear turned into
full panic. "No... No! NO! NO!" He mounted his Dreadsteed and
galloped through Orgrimmar, trying to outrun the Nightmares
inside his skull. It was all to no avail, "JOIN US! COWARD! FOOL!
WHELP! DISGRACE!" The voices became deeper and more distorted,
they sounded to that of a Demon. "You will join me, Lupen, I know
you will!" Lupen flew off of his Dreadsteed as if an unknown
force was controlling him. "Do not mettle into what you do not
understand!" Lupen felt a great pressure being applied to him, as
if the world was crushing him from the outside inward. "Please...
My... My..." His voice trailed as he limped into the Guild Halls
and collapsed on the floor. "No... No... Please.. No..." The
pressure released, and Lupen lay cold on the floor, in a
dreamless sleep.

[Warneshi]

Warneshi watched as the warlock rode through the streets of
Orgrimmar in what looked like a panic. When Lupen went off his
mount and limped into the guild hall Warneshi followed.

"Demon taint this air is rank with it and the corpse, in his fit,
drowns in it."

The long dead troll in the blade spoke those words into
Warneshi's mind.

Warneshi stalked slowly into the guild hall and found Lupen on
the floor. Warneshi leaned in close and sniffed the air around
the undead, demon taint was indeed present, and in far more
quantities then what would normally be present with a warlock,
especially this one.

Lupen layed silent on the floor, and what few Grims that watched
got a snort and a glare from Warneshi as he reached down and
grabbed the undead by his throat. Warneshi slamed Lupen against
the guildhall wall holding the undead eye level with himself.
Warneshi smiled as the little undead legs hung well over two feet
off the ground. Warneshi leaned in close and whispered into the
little undeads ear.

"What have you gotten yoursself into now little corpsse, and
musst Warneshi save you from it again?"

[Lilliana]

"You know that you are going to." Lilliana's soft voice rang
through the hall as the young priestess stepped up behind
Warneshi. For once the tryant king hadn't noticed her approach,
so intent was he upon the strange incident that was surrounding
Lupen in it's heavy demon taint. Lilliana had not seen Lupen ride
frantically through Orgrimmar, but she had noticed Warneshi stalk
into the guild hall with a deliberate stride. She had followed as
had been looking for the troll king anyway.

"You don't need to hold him up by his throat Warneshi." Lilliana
got into Warneshi's face, it was clear that the shadow priestess
held concern for Lupen. "Come on, what's wrong with Lupen?" Even
before Warneshi put Lupen down (if he does put him down) Lilliana
began to look the forsaken over as any typical priest would. She
was not so aware of the sense of demons as Warneshi was, but she
could sense something was not right, that something heavy hung in
the air and danced around Lupen like a persistant breeze.

[Warneshi]

Warneshi was surprised to hear the priestess's voice in his ears,
he was usually able to tell when she was coming. Warneshi put it
aside, the taint was heavy and he probably couldn't smell her
over it.

"He iss thick with the taint of the nether, Warneshi iss simply
trying to bring him out of thiss blackout he seemss to be in"

Warneshi gave Lilliana a smile full of spite and tightened his
grip on Lupen and pushed harder against the wall, leaving knuckle
imprints in it.

[Lilliana]

Lilliana did not return Warneshi's smile, in fact, the expression
she gave him reflected quite the offended look before she masked
it and glared at the troll king.

"I know that, but you dont' have to snap his neck off." She
paused, and put her taloned hand on Lupen's forehead even while
Warneshi was pushing him so fiercly against the wall. "Aren't
warlocks supposed to be tainted with the nether? They walk that
fine line, don't they? And Warneshi, if you don't stop squishing
him, I'm going to bite you."

[Warneshi]

Warneshi grined from tusk to tusk when Lilliana spoke.

"Why so Warneshi can bite you back?"

Warneshi released the undead warlock and let his body fall
roughly to the ground.

[Lilliana]

Lilliana caught Lupen when Warneshi so crudely let him go, but as
everyone knows Lilliana has little physical strength, and was
only to break his fall so that he did not just slam into the
ground. It was almost comical watching Lilliana try to do this,
such an awkward catch!

"You're such a stinking brat..." Lilliana accused Warneshi, even
if she knew that he was helping in his own way. She knelt beside
the warlock, and looked to Warneshi as if for answers. Such
things were more his domain, regarding the nether, although, if
Lilliana dared to enter Lupen's mind...

[Syreena]

Syreena frowns as she sees Lupen's form lying on the floor at
Warneshi's feet with Lilly hovering over him.

"Lu Lu? What did you do to him?" she asks Warneshi with a wary
look. She keeps her distance from the Tyrant though. Supposedly,
Warneshi was under the control of Hakkar when he struck her down
last night, but she wasn't taking any chances. "Can you fix him,
Lilly?"

[Warneshi]

Warneshi watched the undead rogue approach them, and he smiled as
he noticed the distance she gave him. It had indeed been the
Blood God's will when he struck her down in Zul'Gurub, but part
of him remembered all the snowballs and so he was smiling.

"We have done nothing with the corpsse, he wass running about
screaming before collapssing here, Warneshi and Lilliana are
simply trying to...revive him."

[Lupen]

Lupen opened his eyes slowly, one after the other, left before
right. He heard all what they were saying, but remained limp. The
guild hall was bright with oil lamps, and the sudden burst of
colour burned his pupils. Lupen quickly closed his eyes, and said
quite weakly, "No, tyrant, you need not save me again, I have
learned to fight my own battles." Lupen coughed a bit and looked
around to Lilliana and Syreena. He said nothing to the two, but
slowly stood up, waving away Lilliana's talon.

Suddenly, there was a shrill sound inside Lupen's skull, a dog
whistle of sorts, where only he could hear it. Lupen clapped his
hands to his temples and dashed out of The Hall, quickly mounting
his Dreadsteed.

The time; Midnight... Lupen rides off into the Shadows.

[Warneshi]

Warneshi watched Lupen run out and looked at Lilliana and Syreena
and snorted.

"See Warneshi told you he wass helping the corpsse."

[Lilliana]

"Yeah, he looked really helped with that paniced run he just took
on outta here, Warneshi". The priestess snorted back at the troll
king, and watched Lupen leave. She rose to her feet, paused for a
moment, and bolted out of the guild hall in an attempt to follow.
Her mount was near as fast as Lupen's, and may be able to catch
him.

But when Lilliana called to her undead steed, all she found was
shadows, a strange heavy mist that clung to her skin. She rode
around for a bit, seeming confused that Lupen coud dissappear so
swiftly, until she returned empty handed to the guild hall.
