The Darkness of Zul'Gurub

Zarian - March 6, 2006

*Zarian is seen setting by his desk in Orgrimmar with his back
facing you as you enter.. There are multiple tiers of books
around him, with papers skewn everywhere. He is muttering some
incoherent babble. You are only able to discern the words
"Hakkar", "Zul'Gurub", and "darkness" from his speech." *

Come, enter.. sit, friend..

*Zarian clears is throat with authority. He closes the book he is
reading with force enough to blow the remaining dust of its
ancient cover. You can obviously see that this book has not been
opened in some time. *

I am glad you have come. I have some important business to relay
to you, and there is no one better to explain this to than
yourself..

*He quickly jerks his head up and speaks a short word in an
unknown tounge to you.*

Bah, the hell was that? Forget that.. Anyways, I have spent many
hours in my study trying to figure out what had happened to me
not two days ago. "What happened two days ago" you say? Insolent
fool, sit back.. let me explain better. The following is my
recorded journal entry for that day.

"Journal Entry Num. 642593: The assault on Zul Gurub. Today was
an extremely strange day. It began normal, all in all, until
about midway through the assult that the Grim had controlled over
Hakkar and his lands. All was going well with the assult and we
had slain two aspects with ease and a third for the first time in
Grim history. The problem began with the fourth aspect.. On our
way towards the fish-Priestess, I was frozen.. Not literally, but
mentally. I felt a lock on my intelligence.. I was unable to
move, see, hear, nothing! I had no idea of what had undertaken
me.. Now, as I think of it.. I can not remember it happening..
All I can remember from this event is that when I awoke in
Zul'Gurub, I was alone and surrounded by the vile beasts
controlled by Hakkar. After a sudden thought of instant death, I
was shocked to see that the beasts around showed no agression
towards me. I could hear Hakkar's voice inside of my head.. I
could not discern any words, only his sounds. Without a moment
sooner, I summonned a portal to return me to Orgrimmar. I must
figure out what has happened to me.."

*Zarian closes his journal and tosses it aside."

Now, you know. I have been hard at research and have made my
conclusion. Hakkar, through his powers, has raided my mind for
information. He is aware that the Grim grow in power, and he
noticed the level of my intelligence and chose to seize the
opportunity to gain some insight on the plans of the Grim.

*Zarian stands up quickly as his body envelopes in convultions.
He is hammered back down into the chair from them. His eyes roll
back into his head.*

Go! Leave me now. I have Hakkar's power imbedded in my mind. I
must find a way to relieve myself of it! Go, I say! I must be
left alone, for now.. I do not trust the stability of my mental
capacity. I must confer with my most trusted Alchemist..

* Upon your standing up, you notice a strange smell in the air.
You recognize this smell, as it is abound in the lands of
Zul'Gurub.

Zarian lays back in his chair as you begin to leave. Upon exiting
the door, you hear him utter one last sentence...*

"Under the power of Hakkar, all shall fall to his knees."
