Demons and the Tree
Yichimet - February 26, 2006
Yichimet stood before the Dark Portal, watching with terror and
curiosity the swirls of color and power rippling across its
surface. Lupen stood before them, rescued through the efforts of
the Tyrant of Zul’Farrak, Warneshi, and terrible words spilled
from his mouth:
“The Burning Legion comes! The Burning Legion prepares another
invasion! We have little time to make ready—mere months!”
The words trickled into Yichimet’s ears but took time to form a
meaning. When they did, the sight of one thing stood in his mind:
the Great Tree, the World Tree, Darnassus, the blight of the
Kaldorei. That is where it would happen, where they would go.
As the Grims dispersed, shock showing on all of their faces,
Yichimet pulled on the spirit forces that would take him through
the astral essence and back to Thunder Bluff. I must write to
Hidua, Yichimet thought. We must find a way to weaken the elves
and keep the Legion from using that rotten Tree as a jumping
branch for their army.
