Corrupted Youth

Kilrek - January 30, 2006

Prelude

And so Kilrok stepped forth from his village with staff in hand,
beginning the long journey to the Valley of Trials. The world lay
ripe at his fingertips, and he was eager to show the Horde that
he was worth their praise in battle, and more. He had long sworn
that he would make any sacrifice to prove the might of the Horde;
to the alliance, and even to those within it that held doubt. Any
sacrifice, no matter the cost.

Kilrok was eager to serve the Horde and help gather its strength
to defeat the putrid alliance, and this did not go unnoticed by
Kaltunk, nor the trainers that surrounded him. It was here that
Kilrok was expected to show his true colors, his true allegiance.
Kilrok would be tested in many ways, and through such trials,
Kaltunk would learn of Kilrok's intent, and his ability.

And though Kilrok did not make protest to these tasks, Kaltunk
saw defiance in the young orc's eyes. Kaltunk grew concerned with
what he had seen, and went to councel with the other teachers to
decide what fate they would set upon young Kilrok. He spoke of
seeing a great anger, and a hidden drive for power, and a
slavering desire for exhaultation from his peers... nay, from
all. Stepping forward, Nartok made great claims as to the use of
such defiance, and how Kilrok fell naturally into his demonic
trade. At this, the other tutors protested, but all soon fell
silent, as none had wanted to teach one so brash and untempered
as Kilrok.

It was by this proclaimation that Kilrok was set forth to enslave
his first demon. It was good for the young orc; he relished in
the pure domination, and it gave him taste of what power he may
come to possess in the future. Blood trickled down his face,
splattered from the very demons he saught to possess... little
did he know that they might come to possess him, should he let
his guard down for but a moment.

Quzrin was the first; an imp of little renown. Kilrok spent much
time during the first few seasons beating the imp relentlessly.
Every engagement would bring forth demonic cursing, and every
campfire would bring demonic screaming. Kilrok began to become
consumed by the Burning Legion, and he knew little of it.

Hope was not lost yet, however. Kilrok sought out a new teacher,
one that would give him even greater strength then he had already
possessed. In this, he set out for trollish lands, hoping that
their voodoo magics would aid him, but they did not. He then
adventured to the great city of Orgrimmar, and there, deep in the
Cleft of Shadows, he met his master.
