Visions and Nightmares
Ceryna - November 15, 2005
"Here they come..." Necrosis braced, throwing a shield around
Grimgul, who charged the approaching Blood Drinker Trolls. In a
burst of arcane energy, the second troll became a very confused
sheep, courtesy of Frain, while the third found itself utterly
hypnotized by Ceryna's succubus, Carranda. Entering the fray,
Abric slipped up behind the lead troll and stuck his dagger in
its spine. Everything was going according to plan. So, naturally,
it was time for something to go wrong. Ceryna cried out in pain,
staggering to her knees as images of fire and torment enveloped
her perception. The world seemed to blur, and Zul'Farrak faded
around her. Dimly, she heard her companions calling to her as a
patrol of Trolls joined the fray, but she was gone. Images,
sensations flashed around her, through her. Pain, fire, hatred,
warmth, biting cold, fear... all these and more she experienced
in a maddening kaleidoscope, all wrapped in the feeling of
falling, tumbling forever. She saw a man in shining armor
standing atop the walls of Lordaeron. She saw fire sweeping
through the Barrens, leaving Crossroads a smoldering husk. She
saw herself, in life, giving birth to a daughter she never had.
Superimposed on it all, she saw Azeroth rotting. A face rose out
of the maelstrom, horned, fanged, and monstrous. It opened its
maw, laughing, and she fell into that gaping chasm. She heard its
voice, whispering, echoing, roaring insidiously. "You belong to
us... now and forever. The end is coming!" Then, she knew only
darkness.
Consciousness returned slowly, grudgingly, pulled forth by an
insistent heat. Her mouth was full of something granular, and she
coughed weakly to expel it. Sand. She was half-buried in sand.
She stood, listening to her bones creak in protest. In the
blazing sun, she could make out the walls of Gadgetzan. Tanaris.
She was back in Tanaris. She shivered, despite the heat. She'd
been sucked through the Twisting Nether... and she had seen
Tichondrius. Lady Sylvanus' servant. The end was coming.
Shuddering, she began making her way toward Gadgetzan.
[Necrosis]
Sitting upright in his chair Necrosis slowly nodded “I had
wondered what happened to you, I feared your demon magic had
turned on you”.
Shaking his head Necrosis added “The face of Tichondrius you say…
Grim visions indeed.”
