When you walk into the hall this morning, you see the poem has been replaced with a stack of parchment. Upon closer inspection, you see that each parchment has the same list of goals for the scavenger hunt. The candle inside the jack-o'lantern burns merrily.

Photographs (bring a goblin along to capture these moments for you!)
A photograph of you standing with the naaru D'ore
A photograph of you riding in the Deeprun Tram
A photograph of any male member of the Grim in a white wedding dress. If you are a male member of the Grim taking part in this hunt, you are not allowed to photograph yourself.**
A photograph of yourself in costume (must be the ones provided by the Innkeepers for Hallow's End.)
A photograph of yourself in the clothes given to new adventurers of your class
A photograph of yourself with each of the Horde leaders (Warchief Thrall, Grand Chief Cairne Bloodhoof, Dark Lady Sylvanus Windrunner, Regent Lor'themar Theron (as Prince Kael'thas Sunstrider is...away), Shadow Hunter Vol'jin)
A photograph of yourself with each of the Alliance "leaders" (King Anduin Wrynn, King Magni Bronzebeard, High Tinker Mekkatorque, High Priestess Tyrande Whisperwind, Prophet Velen the Divine)***
* Each photo submitted counts as one "item found". Any of these photos which are accompanied by a story told in the Gallow's End Tavern will count as an extra "item found".
** These photographs may be kept for future blackmail purposes.
*** You are not required to be smiling or standing still in these pictures. You must, however, be alive. Barely alive counts as alive.

OOC:
Now, the cautions and procedures:

1) The hunt will run from today, October 18th until someone has acquired every item and photograph on the list OR until October 31st at midnight, whichever is sooner. The person who collects the most items/photographs will win the prize.

2) Due to the number of participants who have signed up so far, teams are no longer required. There are some items on the list that can best be gotten by forming a group, but the choice of items you decide to pursue is yours.

3) You may use any method that is not a violation of the ToS to get an item. You may find for yourself, beg, borrow or buy any item listed.

4) Items are to be sent to Acherontia via in-game mail. They must be sent by the participant. (For example, Billybob can't send an item with a note attached that says "This is for Bobbiesue's scavenger hunt.")

5) All items will be returned to the sender after the hunt is over, unless specifically noted by the sender that they do not wish to have the item returned.

6) In the event you choose to acquire a soulbound item, you may post a screenshot of the item in your inventory in this thread. After I've seen it, the post will be deleted and I will count it as acquired.

7) All photos must have been taken in-game. Please don't use WoW Model Viewer or Photoshop to doctor up screenshots. Pretty please.

8) Any questions pertaining to an item please direct to me, either in game or out of game.

A humanoid skull
A nubless pacifier

((Less than three. You'd better have a ton of bank space, haha!))

Qabian peruses the list. "By the sun, that's quite the list. In its entirety, it hardly seems worth the effort. And the rewards are... what exactly? Entertainment? That I can find elsewhere. However, acquiring some of these items may be an intriguing enough challenge in and of itself.

"I don't believe I care to attempt to win this... competition, or whatever it is. Whatever renown it would gain seems valueless. But I may be able to find some partial interest in accomplishing some of it for my own reasons. Hm."

*giggle*

Tricks and treats for the prizes, Magister...tricks and treats!

The mage's voice drips sarcasm. "Yes. Tricks and treats. Both at the top of my own lists of 'Things I desperately need' and 'Things that would improve my life in any way whatsoever', I assure you."

((I need a not-so-serious-business alt or something for events like these, heh. *dumps 100 nubless pacifiers in Ach's lap* That should make up for the rest! *dusts hands* Haha.))

Her impish voice swirls around the hall as she titters with laughter.

" 'Things you desperately need...' - a trick it is!"

A delighted squeal from the disembodied voice and Magister Qabian Amberlight disappears. His finely-tailored robes fall to the floor in a soft puddle - a mass of silken fabric that starts...moving. A few seconds later, a fuzzy white kitten head pokes its way out of the folds, then begins clambering around on tiny paws, trying to disentangle itself from the cloth, looking - as much as it is possible for a creature of this size and sheer cuteness to look - very, very perturbed.

The tinkling laughter evolves into a cackle that breezes out the door on a gust of chilly wind that sets the fire in the hearth to sputtering. "Let the fun begin...it's Hallow's End!"

Mistress Revelry was gone.

((HAET!))

Poor shocked and confused Qabian-kitty looks to either side once he manages to disentangle himself enough to realize what has happened. A familiar sensation, but a new form. The kitten starts licking its shoulder in the most dignified manner it can manage, as if it intended from the onset to end up like this.

((All right, this weekend I was informed that, despite my researching every item on the list to see if it actually exists, there is one item that is no longer available where it has been in the past. "Military Ranks of the Horde and Alliance" has been confirmed by one player to be unobtainable in-game, even though it used to be. This person HAS confirmed that there is one copy of the book that can be read like all those other books laying around in cities and dungeons. I haven't had the opportunity to check for myself, but for this item only, I will accept either a copy of the book OR a screenshot of the book's text displayed on the screen. Sorry about any confusion this may have caused.))
