Kelven

Unread post by Araun »

Full Name: Kelven Willowwalk
Titles or Nicknames: Blood Knight Master.  Admits to no nicknames, but responds to "Kel".
Age: 78
Race: Blood Elf
Gender: Male
Hair: Blond
Eyes: Dim fel-green
Height: 6'6"
Weight: 265lbs - athletic, at least for an elf
Notable Physical Features:
In a race of lean and dextrous people, Kelven is broad, powerful and quiet.  The fel glow around his eyes is dimmer than in most sin'dorei.

Place of residence: Farstrider Square, Silvermoon
Place of Birth: Sunbound Manor, Silvermoon
Known Relatives: Kaelduin Willowwalk, brother (missing)

Religion/Philosophy:
"I can see a perfect world - and you are not in it."
Kelven believes the world is supposed to be A Certain Way - an ideal, ordered, functioning machine.  The real world constantly falls short of this ideal, of course, for which it must be punished.  Combined with his growing megalomania and strange, violent impulses, this results in a calm, polite sadist.

Occupation: Vanguard of the Grim.  Part-time Blood Knight drill instructor.
Guild Rank: Warbringer
Known Associates: Qabian Amberlight, a former employer.  Cessily Suntouch, a former lover.
Known Nemesis: Malethia "Oathbreaker" Lightshope, a former Blood Knight whom he blames for a wide variety of problems.

Special Skills: While he has no talent for true magery, Kelven is an adept and creative enchanter.  His great memory for ritual and steady hand serve him well.
Positive Personality Traits: Patient, calm, polite, generally reliable, occasionally funny.
Negative Personality Traits: Delusional and absent-minded, idealist, occasionally megalomanaical, prone to violent revenge fantasies.

History Before The Grim:
Kelven was born and raised a servant in the Sunbound manor, where his father and grandfather had served as butlers.  He had a younger brother, Kaelduin, but Kaelduin ran away from home twenty years ago, chasing strange dreams and hallucinations.  He lost the rest of his family to the Scourge attack on Silvermoon.  After the Scourge left, he wandered lost and broken, like many of the high elves - until the arrival of the Blood Knights and Kael'thas' men.  Kelven had a strong arm, a keen mind, and an affinity for the Naaru's power - so he was inducted into their ranks.  With the Blood Knights, he helped rebuild Silvermoon.
Eventually Sunbound Manor was rebuilt, and the Duke returned.  Kelven requested a sabbatical from the Knights, and returned home to serve as the butler - because that was how the world was Supposed To Be.
Others questioned his decision to jeopardize a promising military career in order to polish shoes and serve coffee, but generally not to his face.

History In The Grim:
Ownership of Sunbound Manor passed to Qabian Amberlight, and idolizing his new master, Kelven sought a place in the Grim.  Kelven's inductment to the Grim was a shaky one.  Elves were new to the Horde, and many had already demonstrated themselves to be unworthy of serving the Mandate, especially among Blood Knights.  Kelven's initial missteps were many, but he has persevered, taking his place among the Grim's vanguards.

Kelven Willowalk is everything one should expect from a Blood Knight of our organization. He is strong and brave, intelligent and focused. He is our best Vanguard. None of these traits are surprises, though. They are just his racial birthright, the potential he made reality. Keep up with his pace or you will be left behind. Anything else... it's unimportant, it seems.

This one was doomed from birth.  I'm sure my inheritance didn't help his sanity, but to go along with having all the good sense of a rock and a mentality of servitude, you can stand him up in front of almost anything and he will stay standing for as long as he's needed.  At least until his mind shatters and he tries something heroic in the name of whatever genetic mishap it is that plagues him.
