History Before The Grim:

Filora was young when tragedy afflicted her household and doesn't remember her early childhood. Her family destroyed, she was orphaned and raised by a family of commoner elves, the Livlets -- their name a low-class indicator, as it was a corruption of the long-ago more prestigious name Livelight. Later in life, she would meet Zuffid Thel'nadras and learn that he was her brother, but she has kept her adoptive last name to show how little she cares about nobility -- and out of a slight case of sour grapes as well, as she knows she'll never recover her more prestigious birthright with everything the family once had long lost. Later on, the Scourge destroyed her adoptive family as well, but by then she had grown distant from them and more or less shrugged it off.

Early in Filora's adventuring career, she met the carefree trolless Xaraphyne Nawe, and joined her crew (then called Elrioch's crew) as one of her "cabin girls". Xara soon introduced her to Vilmah Bloodborne, and Filora joined Sanctuary. Though she wore the tabard for a long time, Filora rarely did anything to advance the guild's cause. In truth, though she spoke the words when prompted or when she felt like it, she didn't really care about Sanctuary's purpose; it was just something to do, a challenge to prove herself by, and make herself look more prestigious. Filora was one of the members of Xara's crew who participated in the mutiny, though she was also the only one to return.

One interesting event in her life was when she met her father, Scorpion. Having been killed by the Scourge, he returned as a death knight. He proved to have about as much conscience as she did, and she learned that the Thel'nadras family had earned its wealth through not-so-legal means. However, he disappeared, possibly killed again during his attempts to reestablish the "family business."

After Xara founded Treasure Seekers, Filora took over its day-to-day operations, and organized many modestly successful forays. Eventually, however, she lost interest and walked away, and spent several years doing little of consequence. By the time she came back around, Sanctuary was in shambles, decimated by Garrosh, and she elected to join the ranks of the guild Borrowed Time. There she puttered around for a little while before eventually running out of means and deciding to re-enter the active workforce, as it were, out of necessity and boredom both.

History In The Grim:

Filora sought out The Grim after Xara told her about her own failed attempt to join, and Filora decided to see if she could succeed -- fairly sure she could. Though she is no more dedicated to its goals than she was Sanctuary's, she's thus far smoothly integrated herself with (mostly) none the wiser. It would take a very perceptive individual who had reason to study her closely to realize she is largely indifferent to anything that doesn't have a direct, immediate impact on her, such as grand ideals and the fate of the Horde. It probably helps that The Grim for the most part doesn't care about her motivations, so long as she serves the Mandate.

Personality:

Filora likes to provoke (or "troll") people to see what their reactions will be. She has a talent for finding out what people are sensitive about and has no fear of invoking enmity, as she can easily backpedal over most conflict and reestablish a good position if she's gone too far. In this way she can determine who can be manipulated, and how. When speaking to someone she wants to impress, she is remarkably good at ingratiating herself without actually being ingratiating; her offhanded presentation often lends itself to an honest confidence, though those highly perceptive may sense that she measures reactions and carefully acts accordingly, and that is detachment, not sincerity, backing her words.

If Filora had spent much time in the company of anyone, they might have clued in to her nature, but her wandering feet have thus far precluded that with few exceptions.
