Appearance The unnatural pallor of the Forsaken. He looks "Well preserved" and has suffered minimal degradation. If you had to age him you would think he was much younger than he is thanks to magical aid when alive and fel magics now.

Personality A thinker who is lacking in emotion. His passion which is experimentation is not motivated by a desire to inflict pain, though it usually does, but by a desire to learn the physiology of all races and by doing so understand the nature of existence. Engineering and fel magic aids in these experiments.
He will kill in battle and frequently does but if done so it will be because you should die, not because he is angry about it.
For those who are his allies he has a tendency to adopt a teachers role: patient and understanding, and will not be drawn to anger no matter how ”rambunctious” the young scamp will be. Knowledge is power and he will always try to teach those who he deems needs to learn and learn from those who know things he does not.
His lack of emotion and un-interest in emotional entanglements can make it difficult for people to get along with him. Even other undead find him unsettling. Those who know him better like his allies in The Grim know him to be a steadfast ally who will fight to the last for them.

History: Amaurn fully remembers his past. He was born and raised in a little village on the shores of lake Lordaeron. He showed an affinity for magic at an early age and was apprenticed as a mage in Dalaran. He spent much of the rest of his life in Dalaran gaining respect and knowledge with only occasional forays into the world, usually to learn something that books could not teach him.

When the first war began Amaurn was sixty nine and a well respected mage and teacher in Dalaran, married to a fellow mage and with adult children.
He did his part and helped fight the good fight against the Orcish legions and was involved all the way until the end of the second war when the Horde was finally defeated, including aiding in the opening of the portal and joining in the offensive of Draenor. Though separated often from his family his ability to teleport enabled him to not be away for too long.

Five years ago when the plague struck Amaurn was at the very ripe old age of ninety four he had buried his wife and his children had grandchildren.  He was now an arch mage of Dalaran and a professor who researched arcane knowledge and taught to aspiring students. He died in his sleep to the plague after visiting his wifes memorial in her home town of Brill, to this day he has no knowledge of what happened to his children.
Newly raised as a necromancer he was permitted sentient thought sufficient to allow him to raise and command the armies of the dead and prepare them for the expected arrival of Arthas from Northrend. It was as undead that his emotion was stripped away and as such he has no regrets for the atrocities he committed, though he remembers them all.
His knowledge of alliance defences and arcane ability put him in a position to advisr Arthas, on enemy defensive weaknesses Arthas was not aware of.
He was fully involved in Arthas' crusade against the elves and was witness to when Sylvanus was killed and raised as a Banshee.
His knowledge of the defences of Dalaran aided Arthas to overcome and crush the mages who stood against the scourge and to add them to the growing legions of the dead.
When the scourge's grip began to weaken with the attacks on the Lich King Amaurn was part of the detachment put under the command of Sylvanus left behind to defend scourge territory, and so was among the first to break free with her.

He saw power in the demonic blood of the demon Detheroc and upon his death when Sylvanus took Lordaeron he drank it, the power was greater than he anticipated and he fell into oblivion.
When he awoke he had lost much of his old power and stumbled like many out of the crypts of Deathknell, but as a newly blooded warlock.
He has since been able to reclaim his old power and even surpass such knowledge through his studies and experimentation on demons and others.

He has recently been heavily involved in the construction of a new legion of abominations for the upcoming invasion of Northrend and so has had to reduce his experimentations and focusing on harvesting materials for the new abomination breed, which are anticipated to be stronger and more dangerous than before. He has also assisted in "upgrading" the existing abominations deployed in the Undercity, the improvement has already been noticed by the alliance and fellow horde, who have stepped up their guard training regimes to compensate.


Shimi

Some time before the new opening of the dark portal a recently raised female who when raised was unresponsive and mindless and so was put to menial tasks. One day whilst chopping wood which she had done many times, she looked at her overseer and said "Your face would look prettier wihout a nose!" she then with blinding speed sliced off his nose with the axe and ran off screaming "Got yer nooooose!". After sewing it back on the overseer gathered a few death guards and went to find her, she was blank and complaint and wordlessly complied with tasks as before (Though of course none involving axes!)

The incident was brought to Amaurns attention as he was in the nearby mortuary at the time, and upon examination he found her to have a shattered memory and soul, ordinarily such damage to a mind or soul would ensure the soul simply escaped or was destroyed, but somehow it remained.

This facinated him to the extent that he practiced his growing powers of soul weaving on her and carefully using his own mind and soul was able to weave her back together and place her firmly in his controll but with a will of her own.

Much of her memory remains lost and may never return but she does remember her death was painfull and brutal and at the hands of men, not of the plague which though infected with had not killed her in of itself. It of course raised her and she likely fought as a shock trooper in the Scourge.

She chose a roguish profession and as time has progressed and with help from Amaurn she has grown into her own even to the extent that she is no longer a slave to Amaurn but a willing friend and ally.

She has an eratic personality, part of her being dangerously childlike and giggly and a part of her being emotionless, cold and precise. She can switch between the two usually when matters are serious and require her to perform a duty it is the latter but when she has enemies or alliance to enjoy killing it is the former

She and Amaurn share thoughts and so what one experiences the other can draw upon, Shimi remains mentally unstable and it is the bedrock of Amaurn will that prevents her from loosing all controll.

She continues to fight as Amaurn's loyal killer and happily does any errands which he may ask of her, though she is generally left to her own devices which usally involve messily slicing alliance into bite size chunks!
