Lilliana Bloodshine

Unread post by Lilliana »

Full Name:
Lilliana Bloodshine

Titles or Nicknames:
“Daughter of Shamans”. “Lilly”, “Lills”, "Lilly Poo Poo", "Lily Pad".

Age:
19 (well, 19 years biologically.....she was dead for 6 of those years....back for one.....so....26...but well, we'll still say 19)

Race:
Sandfury Troll (Farakki).

Gender:
Female

Hair:
Deep and rich red.

Eyes:
Striking blue

Height:
6'2'' (rather short for a troll, she's a runt).

Weight:
180

Notable Physical Features:
Lilliana looks and is quite young, especially for a troll out in the battlefield, never mind as one of the soldiers within the Grim. Her features are soft, childish, and warm (for a troll, that is). Her hair is an exceptionally thick auburn, while her eyes are not the usual red of the Darkspear, but are purely blue, both a characteristic of her tribe, the Sandfury Trolls. The fact that she is rather short is pretty “notable”. Overall her features closely resemble a previous powerful Grim, the self proclaimed Sandfury King, Warneshi Sandscalp.

Place of Residence:
Where she pleases, where she battles, and where she is needed for the Grim.

Place of Birth:
Tanaris

Known Relatives:
Bloodshine, Warneshi Sandscalp, Worneshi Sandscalp, Den'Ryu Sandshadow, Chief Ukorz Sandscalp and Xaraphyne Nawe. Although not a blood relative, Tranquility Firekin, an alliance gnome who is partnered with Bloodshine (and has been for many years) helped to raise Lilliana, hence some of her ridiculously prim and proper mannerisms, her odd sense of humor and her lack of a thick, harsh sounding troll accent.

Religion/Philosophy:
Lilliana is a Priest, and as such she does not cater to the dark magics of her Sandfury brethren, or even to the dangerous voodoo that her mother can call upon (and dares to, despite her active practice as as a Shaman). Since she doesn't follow the teachings of her Sandfury brethren, one would expect her to have adopted the Darkspear's beliefs, including following “Loa Bwonsamdi”. But she doesn't. Even so, Lilliana knows about “Loa's, as they are ancestors who have passed to the spirit world, but remain tethered to this world to be pulled upon by the living for guidance and protection. One of the very powerful Loa's, or Loa Bwonsamdi, “the watcher of souls” can be damned for all Lilliana cares. Having had her soul ripped to shreds after the soul eater, Warneshi, took her soul for “safe keeping”, many pieces of her very being were lost to the nether as her soul languished in ongoing torment. She no longer believes in the kind images of some random or not so random Loa watching over her soul. So, even though she may be a troll, she is not a bit spiritual like her brethren. In fact, due to her recent experiences, she may be rebelling against her own spirituality.

Lilliana's philosophy on life in part mirrors the Grim's mandate. She is a follower of the Grim, and has been since it was just merely formed, back in the brief yet rather interesting days that Maledictus lead the wars. It should be noted that Lilliana is also a child in many ways, and following the mandate blindly as many Grim do can be dangerous, and even more dangerous in the hands of a child who will see certain things as either black or white. What the Grim orders is sacred to Lilliana, or at least she acts like it is such.

Her general philosophy on life appears to be the same as before she left the Grim (well, she really didn't leave, at least willingly, she kind of died, and that complicates things). Everyone is a possible friend, a stranger is a friend that you just haven't met properly yet, you know, that kind of thing. She is cheerful, persistent, and incessantly annoying to most in her quest to get to know you (or to bother you). When considering her views on religion and how they have changed since her death, this philosophy is a glorious facade that she plays better than anyone. Any notes that happen to be played off tune would only be caught by the most observant and those with a keen ear.

Occupation:
Priest
Soldier of the Grim

Guild Rank:
Retired: Irredeemable
Current: Harbringer

Known Associates:
The Grim.
Outside of the Grim: Xaraphyne Nawe and Kogron.

Known Nemesis:
All Alliance. Yes, all of them. Except the gnome Tranquility, because he's not Alliance. He's just, Tranquility, her mother's “life partner”.
Gabrizzi (but he's dead, that's a good thing). the warlock Veltor and the troll, Rasji

Special Skills:
Lilliana can get into your head, mess with your thoughts, and “manipulate” you into doing things you would not normally do. Now, Lilliana doesn't use this ability – well, let's correct that, she doesn't use this ability “often”. Her mother, Bloodshine, was the manipulator in the family, and Lilliana saw enough of how that worked so she doesn't delve into it. Unless she's really angry, or it's funny. That's different.

Positive Personality Trails:
Lilliana is a very friendly short, and incredibly loyal to those she cares for, and even to those she doesn't care for, as long as they have a common cause with her, such as her comrades in arms in the Grim. She will be protective of her friends to the very end, and would not betray them. Her sense of humor can be endearing (and we all suppose that this trait could also be listed in the negative personality traits, considering how a few Grims have a bug that they can't get out of their butt), and seems to get her through the day. Lilliana is a follower, and does not like to make decisions on her own, hence making her a good soldier within the Grim as she can be molded back and forth to what is needed. She'll do what she's told, when it matters. Otherwise, all bets are off and she'll do what she wants. Like her mother, Bloodshine, Lilliana has a way with words (when she isn't acting ridiculous or oblivious). She has a strong and realistic head on her shoulders, despite her quite ditzy behaviors that cause the majority of the Grim to think of her as an annoying child. When it comes down to it she can give some advice that is quite sound. She's often much more aware of what is going on that she lets on.

Negative Personality Traits:
Persistent and stubborn, she's like a dog with a bone and once she has hold of something she won't let it go. That includes bothering YOU. Her view on the world is quite dark and is hidden by her outward facade of everything is sunny and rainbows and flowers. Although she's a Grim and this should really be considered a “positive personality trait”, it's not. Lilliana doesn't believe that much will be achieved in this world of Azeroth, or any other worlds that the horde travel to – even though she may say otherwise. Presentation is everything, she she presents what she wants you to see.

History Before the Grim:
Lillian joined the Grim when she was just barely 17 years old, and so she doesn't have a whole lot of history prior to joining the Grim. Although this is not public knowledge in the least, she was born to Bloodshine (well that one is public knowledge!), and Chief Ukorz Sandscalp, the decrepit and lost leader of the Sandfury (Farakki) tribe that still lingers in Zul'Farak out in Tanaris. How that occurred is a story for another time, but she grew up with her mother, Bloodshine, the gnome, Tranquility Firekin, and a fellow youthful Sandfury named Boggart, who Bloodshine half halfheartedly trained as a Shaman. Her early years were spent learning her craft and battling along side the Horde, as is proper for any young Hordling.

History in the Grim:
At Bloodshine's request, Lilliana and Boggart joined the Grim's ranks together, when they were both still children. Bloodshine having just turned 17 years old, and Boggart at the gentle age of 16 years old. Lilliana was granted a rank in the Grim by Maledictus, and watched as his leadership crumbled and Grainger stepped up to take the reins as the Steward of the Grim. Despite how Maledictus lost his place in the Grim, she had admired the warlock for his honest appreciation to have been part of something as “miraculous” as the Grim. She remembers his sentiment to this very day.

Lilliana's days in the Grim prior to her death were full of joking, adventures, hitting serious Grim in the face with snowballs (such as Regnetah, Pincus or even foul faced Abric) with Syreena at her side, helping her ensure these grouchy Grim were pummeled properly. Those days were also full of serious fighting, healing, negotiating (with Horde, not alliance) and putting the Alliance in their place. She found herself loving the battling, the killing, and succeeding in all of the above.

Grainger offered Lilliana a place as an Irredeemable within the Grim, and she accepted, working as liaison for many of the new recruits (now known with the insulting name of “supplicant”). She worked at interviewing and reviewing applications from new hopefuls. She enjoyed that job, as she interviewed quite a few interesting characters, including a few that tried to bring down the Grim and even those rather fun triplets, Tehau, Dehau and Nehau.

Much of Lilliana's time in the Grim revolved around the Sandfury saga that was brought upon by Warneshi's desire to bring back the glory of the Sandfury, and lift the curse he put on his people from when he destroyed his father's soul those many years ago (please see Warneshi's Reclamation for the backstory on this, including Warneshi, Bloodshine, and a very brief appearance by Lilliana ---- http://wow-tng.org/showthread.php?485-W ... complete)) -----). Warneshi is Lilliana's “half brother” (kind of), although she only just discovered it most recently. The Grim in those days always thought that Lilliana and Warneshi had a “thing”, but in fact Lilliana turned down all advances from her Sandfury King, although she remained, and still is to this day, a loyal subject. Since Lilliana showed no interest in Warneshi whatsoever (well, in that way!), he pushed her “betrothal” to a Sandfury rogue named Zurzuru, and the two of them even had a child together named “Den'ryu”. Almost immediately after Lilliana's death, Zuruzuru flew the coup, his loyalty faulty and not even Bloodshine knows where that one went. Most likely dead, or trapped on some pirate ship, as this troll was a self proclaimed pirate, and even spoke like one!

Den'ryu only lived for four days, as Gabrizzi, a goblin rogue who dabbled in enough warlock magic to make himself quite dangerous, killed him by squishing his skull flat, and then killed Lilliana too. Gabbrizzi had hired Zuruzuru on numerous occasions had it out for the rogue, and he came to their home and placed a curse on Lilliana that would send her soul to the twisting nether before it could connect with the spirit halls or be found by a Loa to protect and set to rest. In desperation, Bloodshine tricked Warneshi into drinking Lilliana's soul before she took her last breath for “safe keeping”. This was a grand mistake on Bloodshine's part, and on Warneshi's part for falling for it. Lilliana died, and her soul entered damnation by the Sandfury Souleater. Regnetah, Skash, Zuruzuru, Bloodshine and Warneshi were unable to help prevent Gabrizzi's curse.....and how they responded to it, well, Bloodshine and Warneshi were part of the problem for causing it. Over the years, piece by piece, a part of Lilliana's soul left her eternal hell, lost into the twisting nether. This was what Bloodshine had hoped to prevent, but she had not been able to retrieve Lilliana's soul from Warneshi before she and Tranquility were called away. Bloodshine only returned within the past year to the Grim's ranks, and back to her daughter.

Shortly after Lilliana's death, Lascivious was given the mantle Grainger had held, and took over leadership of the Grim. He removed Lilliana's rank as Irredeemable and placed her as "retired" since well, she was kind of dead. Not that Lilliana had any awareness of this, she was “dead” and in the worst type of hell that one could imagine. Lilliana remained “dead” for 7 years, and was likely to remain dead, however Warneshi, who had also long ago left the ranks of the Grim, had shown weakness in his own soul. The one remaining remnant of Lilliana's soul took advantage of this and escaped, finding her body that Bloodshine had kept maintained and well preserved in the Sandfury catacombs. It is amazing how little of your soul you really need to still continue to be “you”. But since there was so little left of Lilliana's true soul, she is only part of who she was. She fears a “true death”, and that if her spirit loses attachment with her body, that she will enter yet another hell like that experienced through the twisting nether of the world. She is uncertain as to what the next world would hold, or not hold, for what is left of her soul.

Enough of that sad, sappy stuff. Lilliana was reborn and is happy to be back! Upon her “resurrection”, Lilliana wasted no time in returning to her Grim. She found Syreena, shocked that the little rogue had grown up as much as she had and now wears the mantle of the Grim Leader, or the Grand Inquisitor or whatever that new fangled rank is, and demanded her tabard back! She has found old friends, found that many others have been lost.....and hopes to make new friends. She's happy to be back, and looks forward to the “future” beside her brothers and sisters of the Grim. Well, she hopes for a future as much as one who fights alongside the Grim can hope for a future. The Grim are looking at annihilation, after all....
