Sandfury Troll (Farraki)

Red and thicker than usual for a troll.

Dark blue, so as to almost be black.

Where she pleases.

Place of Birth:
Zul'Furrak (Tanaris)

Known Relatives:

Lilliana Bloodshine (daughter, deceased, a retired Irredeemable in the early days of the Grim)

Warneshi Sandscalp (only in a demonic sense as the demonic hydra, Gahz'rilla, once took Bloodshine's form to trick Chief Ukorz Sanscalp into sleeping with her, and well, Warneshi was born, whooops)

Calistana Bloodshine (cousin)

Worneshi Sanscalp (deceased, story same as Warneshi's)

Tranquility Firekin (life partner, an ALLIANCE (yes an alliance!) gnome mage to whom Bloodshine has spent many years beside, and continues to this day. How she's kept this from the Grim so far is a mystery, but suggest that people simply do not pay attention to old trolls)

Lilliandria Firekin (draeni priest whom Bloodshine and Tranquility raised and have used to store what was left of Bloodshine's daughter, Lilliana's, soul)

Religion/Philosopy:
Bloodshine is a Witch Doctor of the Sandfury. She caters to dark Voodoo magic, including the drinking of blood in order to obtain the shadow magic of the mind. She can do this despite not being a priest herself. Her manipulations rely upon mind control, and shifting the stories of those around her. Although the majority of the trolls within the horde follow Loa Bwonsamdi, who watches over the souls of the dead, Bloodshine, along with the rest of her Sandfury brethren, pray to Zum'rah. Zum'rah is the ancient and cruel With Doctor who controls the souls of the dead (hence the large following of Soul Eaters within the Sandfury Tribe). Honestly, Bloodshine had worked against the archaic beliefs and religions of the old ways in her early days with the Sandfury. She became hardened after Warneshi murdered Chief Ukorz Sandscalp and she and Worneshi were “banished” from the Sandfury Tribe after it fell, and no longer cares about progress. These days she will “happily” partake in her peoples disgusting and hateful ways.

Bloodshine's philosophy mirrors that of the Grim's mandate as much as one like Bloodshine will allow it to. The mandate, overall, speaks to her soul and she will always support it. The weak need to be weeded out from this world, and that of course includes the alliance. What's interesting, is that usually Blooshine appears to be of a friendly sort, but only to a point and dependent upon her mood. Her philosophy is to only care and support family, and then only if they are able to encourage her own goals and means. Very few have entered into that realm with her. If she senses weakness or uncertainty, she allows no regret for herself if she chooses to torture you.

Occupation:
Bloodshine is a Witch Doctor, practicing as a Shaman within the Grim.

Guild Rank:
Bloodshine is quite patiently a Supplicant at this time.

Known Associates:
The Grim!

Known Nemesis:
All alliance save for Tranquility Firekin.

Special Skills:
Bloodshine was known in her day as simply “Bloodshine”, by the masses in the Sandfury Tribe. Her skills rested in manipulation of the mind. As the adviser to Chief Sandscalp, for years she directed the Sandfury Tribe behind the powerful chief, as clever woman often do. This eventually backfired, and Bloodshine has taken quite the rest in trying to manipulate the world around her. Her active talents are as a typical Shaman, however she holds her mind manipulation, even more keen that that of a priests safe in her back pocket.

Positive Personality Traits:
Bloodshine does have a sense of humor, even if her dark, brooding nature taints it with it's undertones. She knows how to be polite, and can be quite encouraging to others. As a Witch Doctor she understands how to talk to others, and can be quite the asset in getting others to do what is needed to get done. She can easily act like that sweet, kind, sage-like mental health therapist to those in need.

Negative Personality Traits:
She is a Sandfury Troll, and her own needs come first before others. She may not act like this is true in her obedience to the Grim, however, believe it...it's true. She's no dummy. If she senses any confusion or hurt in you, and feels the desire, she will taunt and torture you relentlessly, often under the guise of attempting to be kind and comforting. She is not - when it comes down to it - a good person.

History Before The Grim:
As already noted quite a few times in this biography, Bloodshine is a Sandfury Troll. For years she acted as Matron of the Sandfury, having grown up beside Chief Ukorz Sandscalp. Ukorz, when he came to power, lusted after Bloodshine. But, being as she is, she wasn't interested. Eventually, the damned hydra Gahz'rilla, took on Bloodshine's form and tricked Ukorz into sleeping with her, and created Warneshi (a previous Grim warrior and crazed soul eater, who claimed he was King of the Sandfury Tribe) and Worneshi. After the birth it was discovered that Ukorz had been tricked, and Bloodshine wasn't too happy either. She saw how dangerous Warneshi was, having inherited the demonic presence of the hydra and ordered him killed. This didn't happen, and eventually Warneshi came back to murder Ukorz and the Sandfury fell. Bloodshine was ousted from the Sandfury Tribe to save her life. She took up residence with the Darkspear Trolls, just prior to the second invasion of the Burning Legion and the wretched drama brought on by the Scourge. This was when the orcs, with a then very young a fit Thrall traveled to Kalimdor. And a good thing too as Bloodshine, along with the bold Darkspears and Sen'jin, were saved from her own destruction during those hard times by that fated meeting of orc and troll. It was during a battle against a group of gnomes that Bloodshine encountered Tranquility, a young mage who lacked any facial hair whatsoever. With the Scourge invasion and all the drama that came from that, she and Tranquility became lifemates (this is a story for another day!), and Bloodshine's life really did take on a turn of “tranquility” as it was spent beside her fateful little gnome. It wasn't until years later, when the wars between the Horde and Alliance had once became strong again.... that her daughter Lilliana was born. Little is known about the troll that Bloodshine choose to be her mate, and that in itself is a story for another time. All that can be confirmed of the male was that he is (or was!) a Sandfury Troll, and with him Lilliana was created. As would a sister to a brother, Lilliana bears a close resemblance to Warneshi, having caused question to their relationship in blood and history during their time in the Grim together, even though it is known that he is not her father.

History In The Grim:
It's Bloodshine's daughter, Lilliana, who has the thick history fighting alongside and helping to the grow the Grim. Not Bloodshine. Her job, as a proper mother would see it, was to encourage and help her daughter grow. She also saw it fit to keep her safe. And as such, she would guide Lilliana to “beneficial” situations, and that of course would have included joining the ranks of the Grim shortly after it's creation by Maledictus and prior to Grainger stepping up as Steward of the Grim. She collected Boggart, a troll shaman trained directly by her, overseen by the gnome mage Tranquility, to act as her daughter's guardian. This fell through after the little shaman's kidnapping and then Warneshi and Lilliana had to run into eachother in the very guild that Bloodshine had thought would keep Lilliana safe and strong in the true wars of the Horde! Her daughter became an officer within the Grim's ranks, and Bloodshine joined to keep a direct eye upon her daughter, even though she had given up manipulations and the beguiling of those with weaker minds, she set herself on this path again. This backfired and resulted in her daughter's death (an old story from 2006 in the old Grim archives!) and her mistakenly tricking Warneshi into eating her daughter's soul when she was cursed and unable to reach the spirit healer. Either way her daughter's soul was destroyed. When her life with the Sandfury ended after Ukorz was murdered and she escaped their tormented ranks Bloodshine had thought she had seen true sorrow and hopelessness. Nothing had prepared her for her daughter's death. With the aid of Barian Wrynn and Cairne Bloodshine, Bloodshine remained within the Grim until the final battle that destroyed the ancient and feared hydra goddess Gahz'rilla – that wretched demon that had caused Bloodshine such heartache and terror over the years. It was shortly after that she dismissed herself from the Grim, politely and with care, and took years to search for Warneshi after his departure, but to no avail as she was always in the wrong place at the wrong time. Her plan to rend his soul to return Lilliana's, did not seem to be one that would ever come to pass. Her goal is still to return this one particular Grim, her daughter, back to life. Perhaps the Grim shall help her in that, as there is no guild like the Grim that understands self preservation and how this is more than just the cardinal instinct of all that live and breath in Azeroth.
