by Uran
Full Name: Uran ak Thork
Titles or Nicknames: Uran
Age: 25
Race: Orc
Gender: Male
Hair: Red
Eyes: Red
Height: Didn't stand still long enough to be measured. About average height for an orc.
Weight: 300 lbs give or take. Insists it's all muscle.
Notable Physical Features: Has been described by a lover as "not having the eyes of a killer". Keeps himself well-groomed, which is quite noticeable for an Orc. Does not have the odour of rotting meat about him.

Place of residence: Currently has a son he left in the care of a retired veteran friend in the Barrens, where he stays whenever he's on leave.
Place of Birth: He was raised in a small island far off the coast of Westfall. Apparently, he was born in the battlefield, before his mother abandoned the Horde.
Known Relatives: Feralle, his mother. He carries his father's name, as is the tradition in their clan, but he has no idea if his father is still alive and has never met him. Also apparently has an uncle that is, again, either alive or dead, his mother not having seen hair or hide of him since the First War.

Religion/Philosophy: If it twitches, stab it again.

Occupation: Hunter, soldier of the Horde
Guild Rank: Supplicant
Known Associates: A Kolkar Packhound, Arrok
Known Nemesis: N/A

Special Skills: Can skin an animal without tearing the hide. Very good at trapping things with a low IQ.
Positive Personality Traits: Loyal, humorous, honourable (even when he insists it's a silly notion), has some very unusual friends.
Negative Personality Traits: Sarcastic, vain, easily fooled by (pretty) women

History Before The Grim: Uran's 16-year-old mother joined the Horde during the First War under pretense; she and her brother had wanted revenge against Kilrogg Deadeye for a past injury done to their clan. Little did she know how easily she would lose control since drinking the Blood of Mannoroth. Her prowess in battle was unmatched, for one so young. An older warrior took interest in her, and somehow or another she got pregnant.

She gave birth to Uran in a swine farm, not far from camp. Most of the orcs were called to battle during that time. In between the labour pains, the bloodlust seemed to have lost its effect on her, and she took her infant in a daze and fled into the woods. She had visions of demons chasing her, and it was all she could do to survive, much less take care of her son. Somehow, she found herself at the Gold Coast in Westfall, where a old couple, not entirely sure what she was, took pity on her and nursed her back to health. The couple later took her back to their village, which was in an island a few miles into The Great Sea.

Here Uran was raised, oblivious of the wars raging on throughout the main continent. Most of his childhood playmates were young human islanders, as well as a handful of trolls from another village in the same island. He grew up learning to fish and trap for food and was particularly fond of the village stray dogs, who often followed him around for scraps. When he was around 18 years old, he defies his mother's wishes and accompanies his friends on a sailing boat headed for the Eastern continent.

What started out as a trip to gather sea urchins turns Uran's peaceful life outside-down. A few of his friends are killed, and he found himself drafted into the service of Thrall's army. He was surrounded, for the first time, by orcs, but instead of feeling at home with his race, he is alienated for his neat manners and more articulate manner of speaking. He learned that there is some discontent over Thrall becoming leader when he was "raised by humans", and decided to keep quiet about his own upbringing.

After a few years of service in the Horde, he met a sin'dorei and fell in love with her. This was before the blood elves officially joined the Horde, but Uran by then had been known to make strange acquaintances. He takes leave from the Horde and settled with the blood elf for a few months in a quiet glade, but one morning, as she was apt to do, she left him. The next time he saw her, she was dead, and her family had thrown his squalling, half-orc, half-elf child into his arms.

He named the child Icharus, in honour of his mother, but calls him Kar, and hides the child's true parentage to all but his closest friends. The boy, after all, looks like an orc, if a pale and sickly one at that. He left the child to be raised wherever he could visit him, as by then he had returned to the Horde. When he was called to duty in the Outlands, he leaves the child in the care of a human female in a farm in the woods close to Hillsbrad. This time, he was gone for two years. When he returned to Azeroth, having been called to service in Northrend, he learned that his son was taken by a group of farmers. He learned, as he followed the trail to save his son, that the "farmers" were in fact a group of Alliance soldiers who had seen the orc boy and had tortured and were about to kill him for fun. Uran attempted to speak with their Captain, but found out that it was in fact the man himself who ordered such a thing, and what was he, an orc, going to do about it?

After killing them, he took his son back to Kalimdor and left him in the care of an old friend in The Barrens. Having heard of The Grim long ago, he decided to join their cause, and get revenge (he claims it is protection) for his son along the way...

History In The Grim: Has not been in The Grim long, but so far is enjoying killing Alliance under their banner...
