History Before The Grim:
While still alive, Nithlid had a love for science, nature and history. As a boy not studying in his small school, he spent most of his time outdoors catching and studying animals and insects. It was his favorite thing to do. His parents however, did not share his fascinations, and demanded he be a proper priest of the light. This caused great contention between Nithlid and his parents, and although he did go to live in the church as they wished, he never could put his whole heart into it. He was different than the others, he knew. He had trouble relating to the other boys and became something of an outcast, often choosing to skip scripture and instead catch bugs to throw into the various spiderwebs found around the parish. One of the more prominant memories he has of his life, is overhearing the High priest discussing his future with the other members of the church.

"I'm not sure if he's the right cut for this. That boy is unsound."

Nithlid couldn't help but agree with the High Priest, but he didn't want to let his parents down. He doubled down on his studies and buried his odd behavior best as he could. Over the years he became a fine priest of the light, but the part of him he kept buried in the dark, also grew. In his early twenties he first heard the whispers. He didn't know what they were and assumed they were the dark magics necromancers, as tales of undead and evil wizards came through the town more, and more often. Eventually his curiousity got the best of him and he stopped shutting the hushed ancient words out of his mind. That was when he first learned of the things of the void, and the entities known as 'old gods'.

The odd curious part of him he had buried so long ago was awake and in full control. He was fascinated by his nameless new teachers! He kept very secretive while he studied the new form of priesthood. Fearing the others might think him a new budding necromancer. How could he expain it was simply the other side of the same coin? Light and dark were equally needed to create balance. He felt as though he had to convince someone, he refused to keep quiet and bury another part of him again. Perhaps his parents would listen?

History In The Grim: Nithlid joined the Grim as a minion of Malhavik, and has done much to earn his own place over the years.
