Marrgot Stormseeker

Unread post by Marrgot »

[since Marrgot has put some time into making sure his personal information is hidden, I've decided to color code information basd on how long and how much digging it would take to find.]
Legend:
Comonnly known information-1hour and minimal work
Might take a bit of digging. a couple days to a week
Hard to find. a week or more
unless Marrgot tells you this, it would take you more than a month of hard work to learn this
Full Name: Marrgot Stormseeker ((Marrgot almost never tells people his last name, in fact only his family and closest friends know it.))
Titles or Nicknames: None
Age: 27
Race: Orc
Gender: Male
Hair: Red
Eyes: Orangey red.
Height: 7’ 1”
Weight: 450lb
Notable Physical Features:
Marrgot has a very creepy tattoo of a stylized black spiral on the side of his neck, in order to make him look more ominous to some people. The tattoo has no significant meaning though. His hands are almost always covered in random splotches of ink, and he always carries around several leather journals. The journals rarely have any sort of distinguishing marks from each other, but each one does seem to have a specific purpose.

Place of residence: an apartment in Orgrimmar (technically, although Marrgot travels often)

Place of Birth: Orgrimmar

Known Relatives: None, if you're asking him. You might find something if you did a bit of digging, but there are rumors that he’s attempted to destroy any records that would be helpful in that regard.

Religion/Philosophy: Like any shaman, Marrgot reveres the elements, and his ancestors. However Marrgot primarily “worships” for lack of a better word, two things. Violence, and history. Basicly, Marrgot believes in the idea that one can learn from history. So much so, that he genuinely believes that if one knows certain aspects of history well enough, including the smallest details, that person could predict the future. Not “this chain of events is similar to what happened in this time period and could have similar consequences” type of predicting the future, but “oh, this person will fall in love with this person at this location and this time” kind of predicting the future. So yeah, he places a lot of value on history, which brings us to violence. See, in his reading of history, Marrgot has come to believe that the only real way the world changes is through violence. Sure, peace and diplomacy has changed the course of history minorly, but nobody ever heard of the rise and fall of a civilization being through diplomacy. Marrgot's value of history, as well as the belief that it is a predetermined cycle that can be predicted, has left him with a disregard for the fate of this world. Take for example, the return of the Burning Legion. Marrgot will fight the Legion, but he does it more as a social gesture, the way someone would offer you a drink out of politeness, without really expecting you to take the offer. The Alliance, on the other hand, he fights with a burning passion, believing from his view of history that the time is right for their fall. And one last thing. Marrgot thinks that all that happens of importance in this world comes from the actions of a few great heros, villains and other characters in the “great story” as he will sometimes call it. All others are either soldiers and other fighters who fought with these great people, and therefore are somewhat important. The people who have nothing to do with it, are entirely irrelevant. Marrgot does not consider himself a part of the great story, and believes The Grim are his ticket into it, even as a minor role, and this is one of the reasons he joined.

Occupation: What he likes to call a “soldier of history.” Basicly, if he learns of an event or person that he believes will be important to history, he will try to have some part in it, and will meticulously write down every detail of it. He may ask payment for his services, just to pay the bills, but mainly he does it so that Historians of the future learn as much as possible about his time period, and easily. Obviously, he now also performs duties as a supplicant of the grim.

Guild Rank: Supplicant

Known Associates: Marrgot has been known to talk with the elders or senior members of several communities, learning about history from those who have seen it firsthand. In particular, Marrgot is often seen talking to a retired officer in the horde military named Kulgor Stormseeker, also a shaman. Marrgot has also been seen talking to a goblin information trader named Kleenayx Silversnipe

Known Nemesis: Bromdor Stormpike, a dwarf businessman that will regularly hire mercenaries to try and kill Marrgot.
Special Skills: Marrgot, while a skilled shaman in general, is exceptionally powerful in more “violent” areas of the world, where natural hazards are abundant. This is because the elemental spirits in those areas are ((I assume)) More violent, and Margot's intentions more often line up with their own. Therefore, they do what he wants more often. Marrgot also has a extremely good memory, considering his tendency to want to write down everything. He’s also has a knack for persuasion. Obviously, he is quite good at history. He also has a knack for coming up with creative, and more often than not amoral, strategies and plans. Usually involving trauma. Oh yeah, he’s pretty good at coming up with ciphers to write messages in.

Positive Personality Traits: Adaptable, Honest, Very respectful of his peers (maybe a little bit too much so..). Also, Marrgot is very articulate. When he wants to get an idea across, he will make sure you understand what he’s getting at.

Negative Personality Traits: When it comes to his past and details about his identity, Marrgot will usually only tell people his first name, that he’s a shaman, and that he studies history. To get any other information you have to ask directly, and even then he’ll probably respond with something ambiguous. This is more out of habit than anything else, as Marrgot suffered from a HUGE inferiority complex when he was younger and hid his identity then simply because he felt that he was an embarrassment to his family, even though his family wasn’t even that significant or well known. Still has a little bit of an inferiority complex. Marrgot is also kinda nosy, which can get him into trouble.

Habits and tendencies((basicly weird quirks that aren't exactly personality Traits but give him some extra flair)): Writes almost everything he finds “interesting” (which is a lot) down. Doesn't like warlocks, based on his study of the hordes early history.

History Before The Grim: Marrgot’s family, the Stormseekers, while not exactly well known, had a bit of a reputation. For a few generations now, every Stormseeker was at some point a petty officer in the Horde army, at the least. Marrgot’s grandfather, Kulgor Stormseeker, was a pretty prominent officer. Obviously, marrgot was expected to continue the family business, but that’s not where things get interesting. See, Marrgot’s father and grandfather would constantly tell Marrgot stories of great heros and their deeds. Marrgot, hearing these and jumping to conclusions like some kind of autistic Aristotle, came up with his concept of “the great story”, deciding that he wanted to be a part of it. This wish, over the years, turned into a source of frustration, as in everything Marrgot was “good”. Not “great” or “average” but “good”. This, to Marrgot, was the worst for earning a spot in the great story, as who's ever heard of a story where someone goes from good to great. Usually it’s bad to great or average to great or they were just great to begin with. When he was about 11, he stopped giving out his last name or details of his life, having developed an inferiority complex. It was also around this time that Marrgot took a intellectual interest in history, hoping this would help land him a spot among legends, even only a minor one. Over two years, this slowly grew until Marrgot values history the way he does now. Valuing history, and knowing that shamans were historically powerful in Orc society, Marrgot asked his grandfather to start training him as a shaman at age 13. His grandfather eagerly agreed, and taught Marrgot how to use the power of the elements. He also taught Marrgot his own little take on shamanism, teaching Marrgot to work with more violent elemental spirits to gain an edge in combat. This, combined with margot's continued study of history, led to Marrgot's belief in violence as the force that changes the world. By age 19, Marrgot’s obsession with becoming legend has lessened so that his obsession with violence and history is more predominant. At this point, having learned all he could from his grandfather he began his adventures as a “soldier of history”, and things were fine. At some point recently he heard of the grim and the mandate, which he decided would be the perfect thing to extensively document the history/merits of for future historians. Marrgot may have also joined up to see if he can earn his place in the great story via this guild.

History In The Grim: Marrgot hasn't been in the grim for very long at all, only for about 2 weeks however in that time, Marrgot has begun to diligently record everything he could about the guild, of course excepting anything that may be of strategic importance, as he is still working on a cipher to write such information in.
