Makuni Mistwalker

Unread post by Makuni »

Full Name: Makuni Mistwalker

Titles or Nicknames: “Storm Crow” or simply “Crow”

Age: 55

Race: Shu’Halo

Gender: Male

Hair: Brown

Eyes: Light Blue

Height: 7’ 6”

Weight: 1150 lbs

Notable Physical Features: Standing 7’6”, Makuni is shorter than the average shu’halo male. His smaller stature does not make him any less imposing. Truthfully, his compact frame and muscled physique make him appear quite solid. Makuni walks with a proud gait (head up, shoulders back). He’s a shu’halo that was raised to be proud of who he is.

Place of residence: Makuni grew up in a nomadic tribe and adheres to the old ways of life. Home, to him, is usually in a grove of trees blanketed by the night sky. He can occasionally be found within the walls of his garrison ensuring that everything is running as it should.

Place of Birth: The plains of Mulgore

Known Relatives:
Father: Akoni Mistwalker – Chieftain of the Mistwalker Tribe
Mother: Gaia Mistwalker – Shaman and spiritual leader of the Mistwalker tribe
Brother (Older by 15 years): Kalino Mistwalker - Believed to have been swallowed up by the Great Divide.

Religion/Philosophy: Follower of Cenarius. Makuni believes that nature will protect, provide and guide him through this life. What he takes from nature he replaces by replanting and/or healing the land. His belief is that nature will continue to help him as long as he does his part to help the land.

Makuni has no problems with the horde taking from nature to survive. He has no issue with the horde cutting trees for housing, weapons and war machines. This is perfectly acceptable. To ensure that the horde will thrive once the alliance has been exterminated, he believes that we should replant the trees and grasslands that we destroy during the war. Ultimately, this will help ensure the future generations of horde have a way to sustain themselves.

Occupation: Druid / Inscriptionist / Herbalist

Guild Rank: Supplicant

Known Associates: He is new to the Grim. At this point, he has only had limited interactions with a handful of Grim. The inquisitions have introduced him to Lilliana, his inquisitor and of course Khorvis. His trial of combat introduced him to Aderlee and Rizquirkk. Syreena, Lupinum, Ruuki, and once again Lilliana, have entered the druids’ life as part of his second trial. He has had limited contact with all of the other Grim.

Known Nemesis: Anyone associated with the alliance and those that stand between him and his goals.

Special Skills: He has learned to communicate through plants. This is how he initially contacted the Grim.

Positive Personality Traits: He is loyal and a fierce protector of those he calls friends. He will put his life on the line for any of them. He is proud and holds shu’halo traditions close to his heart.

Negative Personality Traits: His pride often gets in the way of better judgement. He finds it difficult to ask for help when it is needed. This is an odd quirk since he is so willing to help others and does not see their needing help as a weakness.

History Before The Grim:
Akoni and Gaia Mistwalker are the leaders of a small shu’halo tribe. Akoni is the chieftain and a gifted fighter amongst the tribe. His wife, Gaia, is a shaman and serves as the tribe’s spiritual leader. The couple’s first born was a son named Kalino. He chose the path of his mother and was well on his way to becoming a gifted shaman until his disappearance. At the time, the tribe was being spread thin due to alliance attacks so Akoni decided to send Kalino to the Great Divide to investigate seismic activity. It is believed that an explosion destroyed the ground beneath Kalino and he tumbled into the chasm to his death. His adventuring gear was found near the edge of the lava filled chasm but no other signs of the young shaman could be found. Some months later, Makuni entered the world.

As a young shu’halo, Makuni had an uncontrollable desire to tinker with things he had no business messing with. Herbs left unattended were often milled into powder and left for the herbalist to figure out what they were. To the disbelief of the tribal shamen, totems left unsupervised were frequently moved or played with. His mischief resulted in many hooves being applied to his backside and the back of his head becoming a target for more than a few staves.

Around 10 years of age, Makuni’s insatiable curiosity was finally focused and he began his path into herbalism. An elder from Thunderbluff, an Archdruid named Greymane, took Makuni as a student and guided the young tauren in the ways of nature. Makuni’s fascination with plants, and how they could be used for so many purposes, allowed him to quickly become a skilled herbalist. The byproducts of his herbalism then naturally led him to inscription. One evening under the glow of a bright harvest moon, Greymane asked the young tauren to accompany him to a gathering. This would be Makuni’s first druid council meeting. He would discover his calling and path in life that evening.

Akoni and Makuni have never seen things eye to eye. Akoni always considers the safety of the tribe first and relocates as needed to avoid conflict. Makuni often viewed situations differently than his father and would have preferred to confront the enemy…even at the cost of a few lives. Because of their differing views, a rift has opened between the father and son. The future leadership of the tribe has become a heated topic between the two tauren.

History In The Grim:
Makuni made the decision to give up his birth right to the chieftain position of the Mistwalker tribe as a sacrifice to the mandate’s calling. Sacrificing the position has also put him at odds with his family and thus has widened the gap between them. To Akoni, Makuni's leadership would destroy the tribe because he would get them all killed in senseless battles. Gain misses her son and wishes the two could work things out.

Makuni has resolved himself to clear a path for the future generations of horde to walk upon. He has embraced the mandate’s calling and will annihilate any that stand before him in opposition. His place is at the tip of the spear that will be driven into the heart of the alliance.
