He took the armour from the hold of a beached Alliance ship after massacring its crew with his Warband. Nor is he as dark as other Dragonmaw Orcs, rumour has it his father was a wandering Durotar Orc which gives him a more greenish complexion then his kin.

History Before The Grim:
Akaris is a son of the Dragonmaw Clan. He has been since he was born and has known nothing but war with the Wildhammers and, until recently, the rule of Warchief Mor'ghor. He is close with Zaela who valued his simple but brutal nature and nurtured it into a binding friendship. When the Horde came to their shores and she initiated the rebellion against Mor'ghor she sent Akaris to keep the Warchiefs more loyal supporters at bay in Bloodgulch. Upon her victory in Dragonmaw Port she hurried to Bloodgulch, fearing for her friends life, only to find him happily punting severed heads over the walls to wolves outside.
Since her victory she has sworn loyalty to the Warchief and ordered her Champion to seek out The Grim, a group recommended to her by the Warchief himself. She wishes one of her own to serve them and make the name of the Drgonamaw great again.
