Grim Application For Bjarnemon

How did you hear about The Grim? Do you know anyone in The Grim?
-My good rl friend Cen told me much about the Grim.

The forums are The Grim’s primary method of communication. Will you check them regularly (at least a few times a week)?
-Yes

Tell us about your roleplaying experience. In WoW? Elsewhere? Do you consider yourself a heavy RPer? What does that mean to you?
-I have and still do play a lot of D&D (Pathfinder, specifically), where the rp is a little more fluent and yes, I've even LARP'd a few times. In WoW, I've been involved in lighter rp guilds before, but am happy to move to a heavier rp experience. I find that it can be difficult to role-play within the confines of WoW mechanics, but I'm pleased to see some of the measures The Grim has taken to circumvent these things (e.g., hearthstone communicators).

The Grim are considered a Lawful Evil guild. Do you have any experience playing a character of this alignment or a character archetype that believes in structure with evil intent?
-Yes, though the traditional D&D alignment system has spawned a lot of controversies in my life. Hopefully my version of LE is similar to GMs ... er... guild master... yes...
Ahem! I've shaped B to be more... neutral evil. Though, I'd like to think his motivations are beyond the scope of the 9-point alignment system.

Have you been part of any other guilds in World of Warcraft? If so, who were they and what server do or did they reside on? Let us know of your experience with them and what made you decide to either leave or continue to stay.
-Yes, I was part of Feathermoon's Falling Sands. (light rp, light raiding guild) I left due to its dwindling population (*cue crickets).
-Yes, I was part of Feathermoon's Umbral Advent. (heavy rp guild) We had an rp-guild collective where we raided Molten Core and Blackwing Lair lots. I left due to a real-life issue of great importance.
-Yes, I was part of Feathermoon's? "Ellipsis"? (heavy raiding guild) I only raided with them for about 1.5 years... I worked through all of the raids of Burning Crusade with them. I think that was the last time I was so heavily involved in the game.
Wow's pretty old, huh?

Are you applying on an alt (non-main) character? If so, what are you looking for here that you are not getting from your main character? If you are feeling honest or adventurous, please let us know who your main is.
-No, this is currently my main character. I am looking for this.

What race and class is this character? Why did you choose this race and class?
-Troll mage. I love mages in general; my original toon was a human paladin, then an undead rogue and finally a gnome mage. That gnome mage turned into a troll since I wanted to play Horde with my recently-converted friends (Cen et. al.) and I wanted decent racials when switching to Horde (min/maxing). Though, I'll be having some fun with troll rp in the near future ;)

What are your expectations for your character after joining The Grim? What aspect of the game do you wish to focus on (raids, rated battlegrounds, arenas, challenge modes, achievements, etc.)?
-I've been rather tired of raiding lately (for the last 5 years or so) and would like to make pvp my main focus. I'm especially interested in doing rated battlegrounds and 5v5's with you, as my experience in that is very limited. Also, I would be happy to sub for the odd raid or super-hard-mode-anything when the mood strikes me. I've been told that there are some new pve challenges in the game that are quite challenging and wouldn't mind giving those a shot.

What is your PvE (player-versus-environment) experience in World of Warcraft? What classes and roles do you enjoy the most in a raid environment? Do you have any PvE experience from other MMO games?
-I like both the tank and damage roles. I've played Rift with Cen as well. I've played through many, many raids/dungeons/etc.

What is your PvP (player-versus-player) experience in World of Warcraft? What classes and roles do you enjoy the most in a PvP environment? Do you have any PvP experience in other MMO games?
-Is there really any other role than "kill them before you die yourself"? If so, I'm happy to learn from your wisdom :)
I've toyed around in 2's and 3's for a long time and like to tromp around in BGs once in a while, but I've never been in a proper pvp guild before and have found it difficult to find enough friends who enjoy it to be in bigger things.

Did you read and understand our guidelines on character names, listed at the beginning of this application? (Please note, if your name does not fall within our guidelines and you do not want to do a name change, you are more than welcome to apply under a different character.)
-Yes.

How is your computer performance when playing World of Warcraft? What is your FPS/load times during heavy graphical or high population times? Is your internet connection stable?
-I'm running an i7 with a 670 under the hood... seems like more than enough for WoW. I have a spare R9 290 around the house, but have ditched it in favour of 3d gaming for the moment. I'll switch back if I need the extra horsepower.
I have a decent 55 Mb/s internet connection.

Provide an armory link to your character.
-I would, but the armory appears to be down at the moment... or at least not showing any of my characters.

What days/times do you typically play this character?
-Evenings, EST (afternoons, PST), or when I get some respite during the weekends.

Have you read the Required Reading? Do you have any questions or concerns about anything there?
-Yes and No.

Have you read the Mandate? Do you have any questions or concerns about it? Can your character live by it?
-Shouldn't be a problem!

Do you have anything further to add?
-Nope, hope to see/hear from you soon!
