Grim Application For: Kyoukimaru (True name: Megas Manngear)
How did you hear about The Grim? Do you know anyone in The Grim?
- We've worked together upon the server merge in PvP zones. Fighting alongside showed me an impressive level of organization. Seeing you were RP as well, I immediately looked for a character that would honestly fit. This is that character.
The forums are The Grim’s primary method of communication. Will you check them regularly (at least a few times a week)?
- Website saved. Ready to communicate. I regular a few forumers, this will become another one to patrol if accepted.
Tell us about your roleplaying experience. In WoW? Elsewhere? Do you consider yourself a heavy RPer? What does that mean to you?
- I've been through a few minor RP guilds, but no guild as of yet has been able to match up to what i've wanted for RP. Partly my fault because I have always stuck to RPPvP (I hate normal servers). To me RP is writing, one of my escapes. I use it to release stress and have fun. Combining that with PvP will only increase the fun to be had!
The Grim are considered a Lawful Evil guild. Do you have any experience playing a character of this alignment or a character archetype that believes in structure with evil intent?
- I have characters of all types. Kyoukimaru can easily fall into line under a Lawful evil command due to one of his quirks.
Have you been part of any other guilds in World of Warcraft? If so, who were they and what server do or did they reside on? Let us know of your experience with them and what made you decide to either leave or continue to stay.
- Dark Syndicate. I was the guild master. I recently retired the guild due to RL issues getting in the way of gameplay a while back. I had a cast on my right arm and couldn't do much for playing, let alone PvP. They resided on Ravenholdt as one of the older guilds.
Are you applying on an alt (non-main) character? If so, what are you looking for here that you are not getting from your main character? If you are feeling honest or adventurous, please let us know who your main is.
- Kyoukimaru is one of my many toons. But this is my only rogue, and I love the class. So I want to make this a big PvP toon.
What race and class is this character? Why did you choose this race and class?
- Goblin Rogue. Making an enigma like Kyou started with the humble goblin! Good solid racials, tiny little trickster, hilarious way of speaking, what's not to love? Side note: The character name (Alias) was given to him to protect the character. He lost his mind.
What are your expectations for your character after joining The Grim? What aspect of the game do you wish to focus on (raids, rated battlegrounds, arenas, challenge modes, achievements, etc.)?
- I wish to focus mainly in PvP. World harassment for this toon is my main, however since i recently got him to 100 I'll need to gear up and get into the fight! Rated BGs are also a thing for me. I truthfully love my rogue for pvp, so any kind will have me laughng. I am also open to dungeons and raids from time to time. I know my way around a raid fight.
What is your PvE (player-versus-environment) experience in World of Warcraft? What classes and roles do you enjoy the most in a raid environment? Do you have any PvE experience from other MMO games?
- I've done a good bit of raiding. I know all the basic safety tips for a DPS to know. i have some experience healing and tanking raids, however prefer at least stabbing something. (Though my healers and tanks are not raid ready, I will notify when they are if The Grim ever needs a filler.)
What is your PvP (player-versus-player) experience in World of Warcraft? What classes and roles do you enjoy the most in a PvP environment? Do you have any PvP experience in other MMO games?
- My main toon, a shaman went 1800 in RBGs in MoP while I was stuck in a room recovering from injury. Had a blast, truthfully, and I know my rogue can do the same this round! other than that I'm pretty famous around Ravenholdt on my hunter for World PvP. I know a few GREAT spots too. I fancy myself a bit of a tactician when it comes to WPvP. For the groups I roll with all spur of the moment, I'm the one devising our plans of attack and retreat. Quite often the alliance does not know what hit them. I however, still wish to practice and perfect this. I'm Pretty sure The Grim could have quite a few people I can learn from.
Did you read and understand our guidelines on character names, listed at the beginning of this application? (Please note, if your name does not fall within our guidelines and you do not want to do a name change, you are more than welcome to apply under a different character.)
- I do understand the guidelines. I know my rogues name looks abnormal, however it is a part of his story. In truth, rogues are quite often to use an alias anyway no?
How is your computer performance when playing World of Warcraft? What is your FPS/load times during heavy graphical or high population times? Is your internet connection stable?
- High powered gaming laptop. Hard wired internet. 40-60 FPS at all times
Provide an armory link to your character.
- http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/r ... %BF/simple
(Recently name changed to drop an alt code and use his Adopted Father's name given to him. Megas lost knowledge of his true name a while ago.)
What days/times do you typically play this character?
- Nights, Mornings. I work nights and I'm given a lot of time off, so weekends are usually free. I tend to cater to events and gatherings, staying up if i need to in order to make attendance.
Have you read the Required Reading? Do you have any questions or concerns about anything there?
- Yes. I have no questions at this current time.
Have you read the Mandate? Do you have any questions or concerns about it? Can your character live by it?
- Yes. Kyou can easily live by it. I fancy myself a respectable pvper. So most of the mandate's rules of thumb were already ones I abide by.
Do you have anything further to add?
- Kyoukimaru is my chaotic evil goblin. I've had him since late Cata, and he's gone through a lot of changes until i finally wrote a story for him. Megas Manngear, his true name, has a colorful past I will enjoy uncovering for those who look upon him. His adopted name/Alias: Kyoukimaru ("Kyou" for short), was a name given to him by an endearing adoptive father figure of Pandaren descent. I wrote this character in the sense of a fun quirky tragedy, and it has lead me so far to a lot of fun PvP. Insanity suits this little rogue, for sure!
Side Note: I am a long time PvPer and a well oriented player. I am military, currently injured and recovery from major invasive surgery. My gameplay is not limited by this recovery, however the military is my job. If i have any time i would be out, I will be sure to make proper notification. But there wont be much other than extensive work hours until i am recovered, which will be quite some time.
Thank you for your time.

Re: Kyoukimaru
lol. DC is cute.
We practice sooooooooo much to NEVER FIGHT ANY REAL FIRE.
And I'm over here with a college education in Firefighting, fire science, and emergency medical aid disappointed, so to speak. I'll be recovering soon and going to school full time for a degree in the prior subjects. It'll be great.
