Grim Application For Xaraphyne
How did you hear about The Grim?
-
Originally? Shit... Way back when I was in Citadel, people were talking about The Grim then! I've been around awhile, and it's always been a strong name amongst RP guilds on this server.
What experience do you have with internet forums? Do you check them frequently or infrequently?
-
I'm very much a forum person; I check them almost as much as Facebook, when I'm part of one. In fact, I currently run one which is themed for RP in the setting of a fantasy book series.
What sort of role-playing experience do you have? Would you consider yourself a beginner or Gary Gygax?
-
I've been online free-form roleplaying for... well, most of my life at this point. I know how not to godmode, so hopefully I don't disappoint.
The Grim are considered a Lawful Evil guild. Do you have any experience playing a character of this alignment or a character archetype that believes in structure with evil intent?
-
I intend to address this in character, as Xaraphyne can only be called evil by really stretching it (and uh, definitely not lawful). Essentially, it will boil down to desperate times calling for desperate measures. I hope that OOC acknowledgement that Xara is basically chaotic good does not pose a problem for in-character maneuvering; I believe it can be worked out to everyone's satisfaction, upholding the guild's image, since I don't intend to broadcast it, and she will have reasons for fighting alongside The Grim. But to answer the question, I am perfectly capable of playing evil. ;)
Have you been part of any other guilds in World of Warcraft? If so, who were they and what server do or did they reside on? Let us know of your experience with them and what made you decide to either leave or continue to stay.
-
I've been in a variety of, and founded a few, RP and raiding guilds or organizations on TN, to include Citadel, Sanctuary, Crew of the Mourningstar (founder), Twisting Nether Raiders, Treasure Seekers (founder), Borrowed Time, and recently, Order of Eversong. Except for the last, they have all passed into obscurity, or I moved on for either PvE progression or real-life reasons. I also had a character in the Grim for awhile, but I never played her as much as I meant to -- Nokokomah.
Are you applying on an alt (non-main) character? If so, what are you looking for here that you are not getting from your main character? If you are feeling honest or adventurous, please let us know who your main is.
-
Xaraphyne is my main. 179 days played. (I know, some of you have more, just saying.)
What are your expectations for your character after joining The Grim. What aspect of the game, if any, do you wish to focus on?
-
I'm interested in roleplay and some casual PvE.
What is your PvE (player-versus-environment) experience in World of Warcraft? What classes and roles do you enjoy the most in a raid environment? Do you have any PvE experience from other MMO games?
-
I used to be a hardcore raider. Then I took an arrow to the knee. Har. I still treasure my Amani War Bear, though. Basically, I know how to not stand in stuff and have even been a raid leader at multiple times. I prefer hunter or healer.
What is your PvP (player-versus-player) experience in World of Warcraft? What classes and roles do you enjoy the most in a PvP environment? Do you have any PvP experience in other MMO games?
-
I'm actually not a big fan of PvP. My reaction to getting jumped is to stand there till they're done, then rez and go on about my business. But I can be talked into casual arenas, and I like BGs a little bit.
Did you read and understand our guidelines on character names, listed at the beginning of this application? (Please note, if your name does not fall within our guidelines and you do not want to do a name change, you are more than welcome to apply under a different character.)
-
No problems here.
How is your computer performance when playing World of Warcraft? What is your FPS/load times during heavy graphical or high population times? Is your internet connection stable?
-
My computer and connection are satisfactory, well, as satisfactory as Comcast gets.
Provide an armory link to your character.
-
I only just hit 90, having recently returned to the game, but here you go:

Do you have anything further to add?
-
I haven't submitted the IC application yet, because I'd like Xara to talk to some Grim first so we can work out what her approach is. I figured submitting this would be a good way to let you guys know I was looking for some RP to get that done. :)
I also hope that y'all are interested in having me. I'm no Fhenrir, but I've been a figure in the RP community on TN for a long time. I look forward to contributing my own piece to the Grim legacy.
