Grim Application For Mharren

How did you hear about The Grim?
-I’ve been familiar with you since about 2007 or so when I first ventured into the role-playing community on Twisting Nether. I followed several of your members on the Twisting Nether gazette. I was with you briefly as a different incarnation of 'Mharren'.

What experience do you have with internet forums? Do you check them frequently or infrequently?
-I was a member of the Twisting Nether gazette and recently returned. I am still active on my previous server’s role-play forum, the Ravenholdt RP Sanctum. I check the boards several times weekly and have maintained an ongoing, character-centered thread on the Ravenholdt RP Sanctum since late 2009. A duplication of that content was transferred to TNG during November of 2013.

What sort of role-playing experience do you have? Would you consider yourself a beginner or Gary Gygax?
-I am an experienced role-player. I thrive best in the realm of written forum posts but am also well versed in the ‘face-to-face’ aspect of RP that occurs in game. I’ll typically record a transcript of in-game RP and adapt the contents to make the more appropriate to a forum post. If others are involved in the contents of the transcript I do seek expressed permission from them ahead of time to make the adaptation.

The Grim are considered a Lawful Evil guild. Do you have any experience playing a character of this alignment or a character archetype that believes in structure with evil intent?
-I do have experience with this particular alignment. All characters I have played have been what I would describe as ‘ethically questionable’. The character I play now is a physician and she has been crafted in the context of an individual who operates within institutional settings where clear hierarchies of command and authority are present. She is suited to structured organizations.

Have you been part of any other guilds in World of Warcraft? If so, who were they and what server do or did they reside on? Let us know of your experience with them and what made you decide to either leave or continue to stay.

Malanori [A]: Tyrnea Maldeth 2006-2008, 2011. Twisting Nether.
-I was the GM of TM throughout its duration. While it was a wonderful experience I did not have the aptitude at the time for dealing with inter-guild orders of conduct, nor did I fare well in the realm of OOC diplomacy. My actions lead to several moderate to severe altercations between TM and other guilds on both sides of Twisting Nether, including The Grim.
TM was disbanded by mutual agreement amongst the Officers and founders when my academic load became too demanding for me to maintain a sufficient presence to provide the appropriate RP and gameplay momentum that my guild members deserved.

Mharren Sil’Anion [H] The Grim 2008-2009 Twisting Nether.
-I entered The Grim under false pretenses to conceal my identity as Malanori. This was not done to sabotage The Grim, nor was it done with any intent of harming anyone amongst their ranks. It was done out of genuine curiosity. I regret this.

Mharren Sil’Orah [H] Lords of Omen 2009-2013 Ravenholdt.
-I moved to Ravenholdt after having rerolled the ‘Mharren’ character as a Rogue with an entirely different backstory and persona. Lords of Omen was a receiving guild that took a handful of ex-TM members. Lords of Omen is a Raiding guild with no RP implementation. My RP was excluded to interaction with the overall Ravenholdt RP community through connections made on The Sanctum.

Kibble and Crits 2013-Present Twisting Nether.
I moved to Twisting Nether in November with a friend. We took an invite to this guild after they advertised themselves as offering ‘A place to hide’. One get’s used to Level 25 guild perks and they are amicable enough people. They are a reforming PVP guild from what I gather, though I have not had intentions to stay.

Are you applying on an alt (non-main) character? If so, what are you looking for here that you are not getting from your main character? If you are feeling honest or adventurous, please let us know who your main is.
Mharren. She is my main.

What are your expectations for your character after joining The Grim. What aspect of the game, if any, do you wish to focus on?
I enjoy all aspect of the game at this point. I was previously devoted only to PVP, but after having served with a raiding guild I am quite fond of raiding. I am very fond of PVP still and continue to pursue it, though not with as much fervor and competitive competency as my peers. I don’t have the time to devote to high-rating play.
I’d like to settle into a harmonious and mutually beneficial place within the guild, both in terms of resource contributions and RP activity.

What is your PvE (player-versus-environment) experience in World of Warcraft? What classes and roles do you enjoy the most in a raid environment? Do you have any PvE experience from other MMO games?
I was a druid healer during BC and occupied the role of Second Rogue with Lords of Omen during the Cataclysm content. I have a priest and a monk that are spec’d for raid healing as well.

What is your PvP (player-versus-player) experience in World of Warcraft? What classes and roles do you enjoy the most in a PvP environment? Do you have any PvP experience in other MMO games?
I was a druid healer back in BC and Wrath. I’ve been playing Mharren since then, so I’ve been a rogue. I participate in regular BGs, Arena (2’s and 3’s), and RBG’s through OQ. I do lead and serve as the Target-Caller when appropriate and required.

Did you read and understand our guidelines on character names, listed at the beginning of this application? (Please note, if your name does not fall within our guidelines and you do not want to do a name change, you are more than welcome to apply under a different character.)
Yes.

How is your computer performance when playing World of Warcraft? What is your FPS/load times during heavy graphical or high population times? Is your internet connection stable?

I use a mid-range AESUS laptop currently. I cannot use an external mouse, I have never been able to. I am use the touchpad and while this does result in three-point-turns during combat, I’ve gotten real good at it.
I typically run at 30-40fps. I do experience a drop during raid encounters but it has never been significant enough to result in missed cues or the inability to track DBM correctly.
My internet connection is stable, at least as much as one can be in urban SE Ontario.

Provide an armory link to your character.

Do you have anything further to add?
I hope you will consider my application, and if you decide against accepting me, I would like to thank you for your time. I realize my application points to some questionable occurrences. I am prepared to answer any inquiries fully and honestly. Deciding to submit an application to you was not a whim decision and I have done so with humble intentions.
