Grim Application For Lord Halthan Neferius
How did you hear about The Grim?
- Ran into some in-game RP with Addicus (Apologies if misspelled.)
What experience do you have with internet forums? Do you check them frequently or infrequently?
- I check them as often as they are updated. So as long as they are used constantly, I will check them.
What sort of role-playing experience do you have? Would you consider yourself a beginner or Gary Gygax?
- I'd say somewhere in the middle of those extremes.. I always seek to play MMOs on the closest thing to an RP-PvP server as possible, and I craft back stories and motivations for all my characters before I start playing them.
The Grim are considered a Lawful Evil guild. Do you have any experience playing a character of this alignment or a character archetype that believes in structure with evil intent?
- Long ago, on my original WoW horde server, (before we could have both factions on the same server) I roleplayed Neferius as lawful evil, one of three leaders of the guild Dark Trinity. Had many fun times running RP events, being the bad guys without being disruptive to society. After all, what is the point of domination if all you rule is ash?
Have you been part of any other guilds in World of Warcraft? If so, who were they and what server do or did they reside on? Let us know of your experience with them and what made you decide to either leave or continue to stay.
-Dark Trinity (Ravenholdt Server, Horde, left to come to Twisting Nether)
Church of the Light (Twisting Nether, Alliance. Left when Guild Leader quit WoW)
Cult of Kerahl (Twisting Nether, Alliance. Left when guild became inactive.)
First Legion (Twisting Nether, Alliance. Joined them to participate in end-game raids, never really fit in.)
Many others, left after determining they were not what I was looking for.
I've had many good times with the guilds I've been a part of, but the most fun I've ever had was during vanilla wow and the unending rivalry between the Church of the Light and the Cult of Kerahl. Much great story-driven RP was had, though we still managed to keep it IC, and band together to do raids.
Are you applying on an alt (non-main) character? If so, what are you looking for here that you are not getting from your main character? If you are feeling honest or adventurous, please let us know who your main is.
- Honestly, I'm not sure if I even have a "main" anymore. Neferius is certainly the most in-tune with The Grim's personality, though.
What are your expectations for your character after joining The Grim. What aspect of the game, if any, do you wish to focus on?
- I'm looking to get into some great RP, and the fact that unlike most RP guilds, the Grim actually participates in raids and PvP is a huge plus. I hated always having to choose between raiding and RPing.
What is your PvE (player-versus-environment) experience in World of Warcraft? What classes and roles do you enjoy the most in a raid environment? Do you have any PvE experience from other MMO games?
- Been raiding since Vanilla. Most comfortable with tanking, was pretty much the only prot paladin tank I knew back in Vanilla that actually main tanked MC/BWL. Been raiding as my schedule would allow since then, but am experienced in all roles. Always preferred to tank or heal.
What is your PvP (player-versus-player) experience in World of Warcraft? What classes and roles do you enjoy the most in a PvP environment? Do you have any PvP experience in other MMO games?
- This may be seen as a big black mark on my application but here goes... my original character was a Grand Marshal back in vanilla. ( I know, alliance scum, but in my defense, Horde had no paladins back then. ) I enjoy world PvP and BGs. Hate arenas. Not my style. I'm actually coming off playing Guild Wars 2, really enjoyed the PvP there, but the PvE content was... yeah.
What is your regular World of Warcraft play schedule? If your answer is "anytime", "flexible", or some other vague word please describe why. Our scheduled interview times are 8pm on Monday and 10am on Wednesdays. Can you make either of those times?
- For the moment, my schedule is mostly evenings. Subject to change, as RL job is about to change. Definitely always and evening player though. I can surely make the Monday time, gonna have to put a question mark on Wednesday.
How is your computer performance when playing World of Warcraft? What is your FPS/load times during heavy graphical or high population times? Is your internet connection stable?
- Computer handles everything WoW can throw at it, I think it's actually glad to be away from the madness of GW2 WvWvW.
Provide an armory link to your character.

Do you have anything further to add?
- It was very nice to bump into some random RP, and look forward to more!

Re: Neferius
Cult of Kerahl, you say? Were you familiar with the House of Arkhel, by chance? Or Fabled Order?
Re: Neferius
Familiar with the names. I don't think I had much interaction with either of them though. I definitely remember The Fabled Order.

Re: Neferius
If you're available on Thursday evening after 10:30, I will speak with you then.
Re: Neferius
Sounds good. I will be there.

Re: Neferius
We simply had too much awesome in that tiny room for the servers to handle.
