Talisar

(IC) What name or title do you go by?
-Talisar Amn is my name, and I am somewhat of a merchant by trade.  Or was, until the bloody Bloodsails fished out the non-military vessels.  But the war effort goes well, and there are always different trades to be found.  My title...  Well, that depends on who you're asking, and on what side of the conflict they're on.  At least both sides can agree upon 'assassin' or 'swashbuckler.'

(IC) What is your gender and race?
-I am whatever the job needs me to be, that is, if the disguise is convincing enough.  I was, however, born an Elf, and will likely die as one.

(IC) What is your class in life?  Why did you choose to follow this class?
-That's a difficult question.  I enjoy my trade.  I suppose you could call me a bounty hunter of sorts.  Only I am the only one offered the bounty, and it's usually someone of import among those not quite wealthy enough to hire me first.  Oh, and I don't do the alive part of 'dead or alive.'  And in the field we call them contracts, not bounties.  And I do it because I found that I possessed a natural talent for it, and it's so far made me filthy stinking rich.

(IC) How would you describe yourself?
-In as little detail as possible.  I have a lot of enemies, you know.

(IC) How many "Honorable" Kills do the Battlemasters currently have recorded for you?
-Just over 1000...  That they are aware of...

(IC) What drives you in life?  How would the Grim benefit from having you among its ranks?
-Revenge.  And money.  And just plain loving what you do.  I can't say that I've never enjoyed hearing the gurgling sound that comes out from under the garrote wire at a Night Elf's neck.  Nor would I say that it felt any less good than the weight of a full coin purse.  As for the benefits?  The Grim have already benefited from me.  I am not one to betray client privacy, so let's just say that there are a few already established in your ranks that have taken advantage of my generous prices and rare goods.  Also, I can offer your members immunity to contracts offered against your members.  I do not defecate where I sleep, and know a winning side when I see it.  There is very little, it seems, that holds your guild back.

(IC) What did you do prior to The Grim?
-After being branded a traitor to the Alliance and marooned on a ridiculously small island by the Proudmoore fleet, I was lucky enough to come across an Orcish corsair piloted by none other than an Orc(who shall remain nameless for his privacy) that I had previous dealings with.  He owed me a few piles of gold and an equal amount of favors, so offered for me to join his crew.  I accepted, and began raking in the profits smuggling and privateering.  You could say I was a member of the Horde before I was even Sin'Dorei.  Then the Bloodsail Buccaneers sacked my ship while my shipmates and I slept, stole everything and burned my ship.  The whole crew was killed, but I survived by a well-placed dagger to the face, and a subsequent leap out of a porthole.  From there, I decided to take up mercenary work, since I had every shilling invested in the hold of that boat.  Storm Naxxramas, kill a giant black dragon, spelunk the ruins of Ulduar, murder politician of omitted rank and name...  Typical war stuff.

(IC) What are your thoughts on the pact between the Alliance and the Warchief Thrall?
-I think it's a great idea.  There's no reason why we can't become closer, and stop fighting.  After all, we are all living, breathing beings.  We think, and feel, and share so much in common with each other.  I applaud the Warchief in taking such a brave step forward in the name of dignified, peace-seeking gentlemen; a pinnacle of open-minded thinking, that is, embracing forgiveness instead of holding hatred.  We would no longer have need for war, or battle.  Hell, we could all throw down our armor and unite as one peaceful nation of free-thinking individuals, and let the past stay in the past.  Warchief Thrall is doing something great for the sake of Horde and Alliance together.  Besides, once we're all happy and living with each other in peace, they would never expect all of the knives sliding so easily into their stupid, gullible backs.  Warchief Thrall's plan could be useful, but I doubt he has the same goals in mind, nor the danglies to commit.  Brave guy though.  Doesn't seem outwardly like he's committed to this war.  Or even concerned that the Alliance as a whole hate him and wish for his death nightly before bed.

(OOC) The Grim is a role-playing guild that requires full immersion (heavy RP) of their members.  What does that mean to you?
-lack of ooc unless absolutely necessary.

(OOC)  The Grim are considered a Lawful Evil guild, ruled by structure and a defined chain of command with the intent to see the complete annihilation of their enemies.  How does your character's personality and storyline follow the Grim Mandate?  Is there any conflict between how you want to play your character and the theme of the Grim?  If so, what do you expect out of joining us?
-even when his own people turned their back on him, the horde didn't.  he is a member of the horde first and a blood elf second.  if he makes a promise, he will lie cheat and steal to keep it, and respects the fact that he has never met an orc or troll that has taken the hit to his honor to break his word.  and long ago, the alliance left him for dead.  he doesn't mind returning the favor.  in fact, he promised that he would.

(OOC) What sort of role-playing experience do you have, online or off-line?  Do you consider yourself a beginner or Gary Gygax?
      -more like monte cook.

(OOC) Do you have any previous WoW experience?  (PvP, Raiding, Battlegrounds, Different Servers, Different Guilds, Different Factions, etc.)
-yep, this character was a member of on garona for near a year raiding.  also, another character of mine is in the guild, fahn.  all of her experience translates, obviously.  This character was mostly PvE though, so I'm still working on getting some rank in pvp.

(OOC) Is this character a server-transfer or has it been renamed recently?
-Yep, this character was from garona.

(OOC)  What are you, the player, looking for in the Grim? What are your expectations of the guild?
-fun.  that's what we're all here for, right?

(OOC)  When joining the Grim, each new applicant will be matched up with someone to help them get into the swing of being Grim.  In order to coordinate this, we will need to have a fair approximation of your play schedule.  Please give a general outline below, OR if you wish to keep it private, send a PM to Aquizit.
-pretty much every evening with the exception of wednesdays, thursdays and sundays.  those days are tenuous, but i'm pretty much on every day.  normally, though, i'm on from anywhere between 8pm EST to 2am EST, with some variation depending on work or burnout

(OOC) Please provide an armory link to your character for verification.
      -http://www.wowarmory.com/character-shee ... cn=Talisar

(IC/OOC) Do you have anything further to add?
-(IC)  "Peace Through Annihilation" sounds like a good motto, but only if you set the bodies on fire.  "Peace Through Stab" is a little more fitting for me, but sounds more like a past wrestling match between two people named "Piece" and "Stab."  Point taken.  Piece Threw An Eye Elation.  Wait, what was it supposed to be again?
-(OC)  this character is going to be fun to play, and is also decently geared for raids.  he has a little over 5.3k for gearscore.

Ah, point of order here. You need to get Fahn to Warbringer (or Cursed) before an alt is accepted into The Grim.

Until then, this application is unfortunately closed.

Find me and I can accept Talisar in the meantime into .

PS: I've locked this so if you need to give me a PM, Fahn.

Alas, an important client has petitioned me to join him in a seldom seen event Sunday, and it will likely be an all day meeting.  My apologies, this engagement was previously set.

I have negligible business on Monday, and will be happily available.  If there is anything I should bring along, please do not hesitate to ask.

Monday evening then.  And in the mean time, the location of the meeting being undisclosed is a good touch.  Trust is important to any business man, and I am eager to establish a relationship of trust.

I await further correspondence,

--T. A.
