Uran

(IC) What name or title do you go by?
- Uran ak Thork.
(IC) What is your gender and race?
- I'm a male orc, the last time I checked.
(IC) What is your class in life? Why did you choose to follow this class?
- I'm what you call a "hunter", since my chosen weapon is the bow and arrow, and I rely on my hound Arrok during
battles. It's a little bit ridiculous because as a soldier of the Horde, I'm very rarely called upon to actually 'hunt', although sometimes I skin the animals I have to kill for fun. It relaxes me.
(IC) How would you describe yourself?
- A very good-looking orc. I'm 25 years young, muscular physique, redhaired, and currently single. And yes, I actually do like long walks on the beach.
(IC) How many "Honorable" Kills do the Battlemasters currently have recorded for you?
- 9077. I'm sure there's more, but the Battlemasters don't like to count the gnomes that drop dead at the sight of me.
(IC) What drives you in life? How would the Grim benefit from having you among its ranks?
- I live to fight! Or, I think that's what you want me to say. Truth be told, I have a young son that was recently taken hostage by a group of farmers in the Eastern Continent. I had thought this was because of my rank in the Horde and that they needed something out of me, but I learned that they meant to kill him for looking like an orc. He's only four years old. Whatever Thrall is doing about this war, to stop these petty rivalries and prejudices, is obviously not working.
Today, I am out for blood. The Grim will have an able, competent, blooded soldier who knows what he's doing and can actually shut up once in a while to listen to orders.
(IC) What did you do prior to The Grim?
- I am a Stone Guard in the Horde. I have been a soldier in the Horde since I was young, at my mother's insistance. I have served with loyalty and honour throughout the years. Currently, I'm on "sick leave", as I'm considering transferring out of my unit. Ha, ha, ha.
(IC) What are your thoughts on the pact between the Alliance and the Warchief Thrall?
- As I said, I don't think it's working. Even though the recent tension is at its peak, and the Alliance and the Horde is at the throes of war, Thrall is incapable of decisive actions that will give us a foothold in this world. I have served him faithfully, even spending three years in the Outlands, but I don't think that what he's doing is enough...
(OOC) The Grim is a role-playing guild that requires full immersion (heavy RP) of their members. What does that mean to you?
- I RP Uran from the moment I log in till I log out. Being that he is a male orc, and I'm female, I kinda have to. The Grim requiring heavy RP from its members only means that I get to be around people that actually play like me!
(OOC) The Grim are considered a Lawful Evil guild, ruled by structure and a defined chain of command with the intent to see the complete annihilation of their enemies. How does your character's personality and storyline follow the Grim Mandate? Is there any conflict between how you want to play your character and the theme of the Grim? If so, what do you expect out of joining us?
- See, Uran isn't necessarily 'evil', and has been known to *ahem* let Alliance scrubs off the hook once in a while (although he's also been known to just run through and potshot six greenies to death at one time). He tends to get carried away flirting with more human and night elf females he's trying to kill. He's currently a little bit more pissed off than he usually is (as he's explained above), which gives him current incentive; also, being a soldier most of his adult life, he does follow orders with only a few smartass comments.
(OOC) What sort of role-playing experience do you have, online or off-line? Do you consider yourself a beginner or Gary Gygax?
-I roleplayed somewhat when I was younger, haven't really seriously done so lately, but I do write, a lot. I actually played WoW specifically with the intent of building up this character's backstory in my head as I levelled along, as kind of a writer's exercise.
(OOC) Do you have any previous WoW experience? (PvP, Raiding, Battlegrounds, Different Servers, Different Guilds, Different Factions, etc.)
-Not really; this is the first character I seriously levelled, and the only one I have at level 80. I'm only just starting to gear him up.
(OOC) Is this character a server-transfer or has it been renamed recently?
-Nope.
(OOC) What are you, the player, looking for in the Grim? What are your expectations of the guild?
-I really have been eyeing roleplaying guilds for a while, but I still want to play the game, and I *really* didn't want a guild where I just sat around hearing yet another Death Knight moan about being undead. I want a guild where I can roleplay and at the same time get things done; I'd forgotten about The Grim, which I heard about two years ago when I started out this character (I quit for a while), and then I saw the triplets in Alterac Valley and their coordinated efforts to secure a tower. That made me really want to join The Grim.
(OOC) When joining the Grim, each new applicant will be matched up with someone to help them get into the swing of being Grim. In order to coordinate this, we will need to have a fair approximation of your play schedule. Please give a general outline below, OR if you wish to keep it private, send a PM to Cristok.
- It's sporadic throughout the week (mostly mid-afternoon game time), BUT on Thursday and Friday nights, at least until the end of August, from maybe 8 pm until about 2:30 am in game, I'll be playing. I usually will be very busy on weekends, so I can't be expected to be online then.
(OOC) Please provide an armory link to your character for verification.
