(IC) What name or title do you go by?
Oshmay
(IC) What is your gender and race?
Troll, Male. Long in the tusk, and stout o' stature.
(IC) What is your class in life? Why did you choose to follow this class?
Warrior is my chosen profession, and like so much in life, the path I took was less a question a choice and more one of natural selection.
(IC) How would you describe yourself?
The only remaining vestigial testaments to a life of soft-living before the war are my self-deprecating sense of humor, quick wit, and a love of good spirits. My accent can become quite thick when I'm agitated or otherwise under duress. I live in the moment, come what may.
(IC) How many "Honorable" Kills do the Battlemasters currently have recorded for you?
Seven Hundred and Ninety-Six, give or take the ones I allowed to keep their miserable lives because they couldn't offer up a challenge.
(IC) What drives you in life? How would the Grim benefit from having you among its ranks?
I live for the thrill of battle, defending my friends and hewing my enemies. The exultations of my fellows are my bread, the lamentations of my enemies my mead. The Grim will find in me a capable, experienced, level-headed Slayer, ready to answer each injustice and betrayal in kind.
(IC) What did you do prior to The Grim?
I drifted through life, enjoying its fleeting distractions, always searching for my true purpose.
(IC) What are your thoughts on the pact between the Alliance and the Warchief Thrall?
Both great powers tip-toe around each other as if they're afraid that even breathing too loudly will ignite further hostilities. Let us take some of our Warchief's great burden, help to remove some of the terrible onus of "Diplomacy". We all know what the outcome will be, anyway.
(OOC) The Grim is a role-playing guild that requires full immersion (heavy RP) of their members. What does that mean to you?
Heavy RP is just that, heavy. You're in character from the time you log on till you feel like passing out for the night, with short, intra-character OOC breaks when things require some explaining.
(OOC) The Grim are considered a Lawful Evil guild, ruled by structure and a defined chain of command with the intent to see the complete annihilation of their enemies. How does your character's personality and storyline follow the Grim Mandate? Is there any conflict between how you want to play your character and the theme of the Grim? If so, what do you expect out of joining us?
Oshmay doesn't consider himself evil, but he's more than willing to do evil things in order to change the status quo, for the betterment, as he sees it, of the Horde. As long as there are boundless opportunities for carnage and PvP hijinks, Oshmay will be your right-hand man . . .troll . . . .thing.
(OOC) What sort of role-playing experience do you have, online or off-line? Do you consider yourself a beginner or Gary Gygax?
12 or so years of tabletop D&D, white wolf, Chaosium, etc. My online RP experiences are rather limited, comparitively, but I'm confident that I'll get into the swing of things eventually.
(OOC) Do you have any previous WoW experience? (PvP, Raiding, Battlegrounds, Different Servers, Different Guilds, Different Factions, etc.)
Tons. I'm a rabid, ferocious PvP'er with a mind for tactics, and I've raided everything from Molten Core to Ulduar. I've done the "hardcore" raiding before for a couple years, and found that it completely burned me out on the game . . . . there's only so many times you can run the same instances before you start hating them. I've played on both factions for lengthy stints of time.
(OOC) Is this character a server-transfer or has it been renamed recently?
Negatory
(OOC) What are you, the player, looking for in the Grim? What are your expectations of the guild?
Honestly, I'm in it for the memories. Achieving victory against stacked odds, making friends, and experiencing everything we can offer each other . . . .yeah, that's what I'm after.
(OOC) When joining the Grim, each new applicant will be matched up with someone to help them get into the swing of being Grim. In order to coordinate this, we will need to have a fair approximation of your play schedule. Please give a general outline below, OR if you wish to keep it private, send a PM to Nymare.
I'm generally available from 4-12 pm, eastern, most weekdays. Saturday I'm usually on most of the day, unless I have plans. Sunday is, unfortunately, going to have to be a day off for me, as I work till the evening and then head up into the hills of West Virginia to get my tabletop D&D fix for the week.
(OOC) Please provide an armory link to your character for verification.

(IC/OOC) Do you have anything further to add?
OOC: A friend, who will also be posting an app, and myself played on Twisting Nether a couple years ago on the Alliance side. We belonged to a smaller guild by the name of "The Ironforge Regiment." The main reason we're applying now is because you all made such a positive first impression. It seemed like every time the Local Defense channel lit up there were a couple members of The Grim right in the thick of whatever melee had cropped up.
Now, we realize that you've set your level requirement at level 60, so although we'd like nothing more than to become a part of the well oiled, glistening, muscular, hard-bodied, laquered-in-awesome Grim machine, we understand. If eight levels is a big deal, please consider this as a notification of intent, and as a pre-application application.
Now it's 7:15 in the morning . . . time for bed. /bleary
