Thern'ok

(IC) What name or title do you go by?
-Some call me monster, some call me death, but my name among my own is Thern'ok.
(IC) What is your gender and race?
-I am a male orc.
(IC) What is your class in life? Why did you choose to follow this class?
-I am a Death Knight. I did not choose this, the Lich King did. I may original chosen path was that of a warlock, but now I know that path to be a road to enthrallment. I am finished with bending like a reed to the winds of others wills, so I choose to stay my current path. Besides, it will be fitting to slay Arthas with that which he has given me.
(IC) How would you describe yourself?
-With one word: Vindictive.
(IC) What drives you in life? How would the Grim benefit from having you among its ranks?
-Vengeance is more than my drive, it is my very being, and the slaughter of my enemies, my breath. I have been trained as a weapon to be wielded by a master, but now I am free of such servitude, and I am my own weapon to be directed where I please. However, I do not have to face the challenge of putting down my foes alone. I feel that the Grim would benefit as much from my ruthlessness as I would theirs.
(IC) What did you do prior to The Grim?
-Before I fell to the hands of the Lich King, I was a member of the Shadow Council living in Orgrimmar, where I worked to undermine the Warchief and the Horde in every possible manner. However, the breaking of the Lich King's influence over me awakened something I had lost in my pursuit of power. The Horde are a strong and proud collaboration of peoples. They are my people. Since I have come again to my own free will, I have sought a way to redeem myself for my past atrocities against the Horde. I realize now that in their protection, whether or not they agree with my methods, lies the key to regaining my honor amongst them.
I have searched long and hard for my brothers and sisters of a like-mind, and I believe that I have found them at long last, in the Grim: Peace through annihilation.
(IC) What are your thoughts on the pact between the Alliance and the Warchief Thrall?
-This "pact" is foolishness spawned from the Warchief's lusts for the Proudmoore wench. It is a folly that will be our demise. I understand, of course, that the Alliance are invaluable in our struggle against those who would oversee the destruction of Azeroth as a whole, but they would be just as useful being driven into this battle at the points of our spears.
(OOC) The Grim is a role-playing guild that requires full immersion (heavy RP) of their members. What does that mean to you?
-To me, it means that unless I am in an OOC designated channel, I will use parentheses to indicate that I am speaking out of character, and that I will do that as little as possible.
(OOC) The Grim are considered a Lawful Evil guild, ruled by structure and a defined chain of command with the intent to see the complete annihilation of their enemies. How does your character's personality and storyline follow the Grim Mandate? Is there any conflict between how you want to play your character and the theme of the Grim? If so, what do you expect out of you joining?
-The term "Lawful Evil" has dictated every turn of my character's life and I hope I have shown as much in his personality in the IC portion of this application. I do not foresee any conflicts between how I wish to RP Thern'ok, and the Grim.
(OOC) What sort of role-playing experience do you have, online or off-line? Do you consider yourself a beginner or Gary Gygax?
-Off-line, I used to play Vampire: The Masquerade. Currently I play Starwars d20 and a few GURP's campaigns. Online, WoW is my first MMORPG but I have been playing on an RP server since the launch of vanilla, so while I will admit to having no knowledge of "Gary Gygax," I do have years under my belt.
(OOC) Do you have any previous WoW experience? (PvP, Raiding, Battlegrounds, Different Servers, Different Guilds, Different Factions, etc.)
-As mentioned, I have been playing WoW since it released on the Silver Hand server. I have spent the duration of my time there in The Ironsong Tribe, which is the largest, and oldest, heavy RP guild Hordeside (and perhaps server wide). We have always had great success with end-game raiding, and while many in the Tribe are not PvP'ers, some of us, including myself, do enjoy grouping for well organized Battlegrounds.
(OOC) What are you, the player, looking for in the Grim? What are your expectations of the guild?
-I expect a sufficient RP experience. Some raiding would be nice, but is not amongst my priorities in coming to Twisting Nether.
(OOC) When joining the Grim, each new applicant will be matched up with someone to help them get into the swing of being Grim. In order to coordinate this, we will need to have a fair approximation of your play schedule. Please give a general outline below, OR send a PM to all (not just one) of the following members: Acherontia, Nymare, Tecunuman
-My playing schedule is hectic and ever changing. For the time being, I am mostly a nocturnal player, though I can be found in-game on most afternoons as well. Tuesday and Friday evenings I will not be on at all. If this is due to change, I will notify my "Inquisitor" or if I have yet to be assigned one, all of the above mentioned people. If more elaboration is needed, the questions will have to be more specific, so feel free to PM me in-game or here on the forums. I will be checking regularly.
(IC/OOC) Do you have anything further to add?
-If the Horde is to persevere, there is only one path: Peace through annihilation.
((I am a buddy of Fhenrir's from Silver Hand and very new to TN. However, when I ask around about decent TN RP guilds, everyone, including Fhen, has pointed to the Grim, and I hope to be amongst your ranks soon.))
