I would like to preface this application by stating I had an amazing application typed and when I clicked post there was a glicth and it was disintegrated.  Argh!  But I forge ahead, and will endeavor to find my muse once again and post a worthy application.  The 1st one was really good though :)

(IC) What name or title do you go by?
-I am Lorgalis.  Titles are for sycophants. My actions will speak on my behalf.

(IC) What is your gender and race?
-In the days before the shroud of death was pulled over my eyes, I was a Sin'Dorei.  Now I walk the lands between life and death.  There are those who are simple minded and of poor perception who gaze upon the Sin'Dorei and are confused in regards to their gender.  I assure you most adamantly that I am male.

(IC) What is your class in life?  Why did you choose to follow this class?
      - I am a Death Knight of the Ebon Blade.  Chose? As if I had a choice.  When the dark master beckoned, I stepped cross the void and served willingly as an instrument of destruction.

(IC) How would you describe yourself?
      - Come taste of my blade and you will know of me.

(IC) What drives you in life?  Why do you want to be Grim?
      - The destruction of Fodring and his so called champions. I wish to see all Fodring holds dear destroyed.  When his precious alliance is crushed I shall be there to see him weep bitter tears of despair as I extinguish the light from his eyes and feed his soul to the abyss.  The Grim's adhereants and I are of like mind and with our strength combined we shall usher in a new era forged from the blood and tears of the shattered.

(IC) What did you do prior to The Grim?
-I fought beside the Lich King, a weapon for him to wield as he sought.

(IC) What are your thoughts on the pact between the Alliance and the Warchief Thrall?
-The orc lord is a fool.  The alliiance must be utterly destroyed.

(OOC) The Grim is a role-playing guild that requires full immersion (heavy RP) of their members.  What does that mean to you?
      - I hope to become part of a wonderous, interactive story.  Through Roleplay I hope we can devlop our characters.. not simply by gear and levels but through a deeper understanding of the world through our characters eyes and an deeper understanding of our characters and their place in this fantasy world.  I wany dynamic characters who grow and feel and evolve.  Good RP is essential for this to occur.

(OOC)  The Grim are considered a Lawful Evil guild, ruled by structure and a defined chain of command with the intent to see the complete annihilation of their enemies.  How does your character's personality and storyline follow the Grim Mandate?  Is there any conflict between how you want to play your character and the theme of the Grim?  If so, what do you expect out of you joining?
    - I see Lorglais ( in his current incarnation ) and the Grim hand in hand as they seek to destroy the alliance. Lorglais' bitter emnity for Fodring makes him a useful tool/weapon.  He wants to be the agent of their destruction.

(OOC) What sort of role-playing experience do you have, online or off-line?  Do you consider yourself a beginner or Gary Gygax?
      - Gary?!  Are you MAD?!?!!  That is like comparing Hitler to Ghandi!  I mean I lvoe roleplay and have been since 1978 when I stared with my blue box of basic D&D.  I have played numerous PnP RPGs over the past 30+ years and have participated in many RP guilds in MMOS and have had the priviledge to even runa  few small RP guilds myself.  I remember fondly while GMing spending hours talking IC about the astronomy, fate and world at large while the characters stared up into the star filled sky.

(OOC) Do you have any previous WoW experience?  (PvP, Raiding, Battlegrounds, Different Servers, Different Guilds, Different Factions, etc.)
-I consider my self a newb with 3 level 70s.  I did not raid but LOVED the PvP!.  I am a huge fan of world PvP.  I enjoy BGs but am not a fan of the arena

(OOC)  What are you, the player, looking for in the Grim? What are your expectations of the guild?
      - I want to Roleplay with a group of solid players.  I want to create interactive ficxtion and fight beside those who are of like mind and heart.  I want to share the adventure with others.  I hope to have access to a waelth of information that will help me in game, help me become a better player.  I hope to give back what I can to others.  I hope for a shared RP experience.

(IC/OOC) Do you have anything further to add?
After doing this 2x, pant pant.. I am a 40 yr old fat man with 2 kids and a love for roleplay and story.  It is my sincere desire to find a great story to be part of.

*Mutters looking at the application... she sighs and shakes her head*

Another Deathknight...

*She reads over the application again.*

What were you in life-- what was your calling then?  *She narrows her eyes at the application* 'come taste my blade..."?  Hah! Yes, I am sure this is a brilliant way to be a comrade with those you wish to fight at the side of.

*She mutters 'come taste my blade" another time, and lets out a small laugh, glares at the application and steps back from where it is posted.*

I am curious to learn more about your hatred for Tirion Fordring.  Would you care to elaborate?

OOC - Well said.  Dark Knights can be sooo uppity at times.  I think it was the Lich King's indoctrination techniques...welll I'll blame them.  I like think of commraderie --or even a really engaging story-- this way. Tension and conflict---better word resistance -- is essentail.  It is tension upon a string than when plucked allows it is vibrate and create wonderous sound.  So to in relationsips.  If we are all cookie cutter clones the interaction amogst us would tend to be dull.  When there is a tension  interaction and story flow.  I mean I do not see him running the guild through with his sword in some fit of erect penis power - that would be silly.  I do see a man who has been recreated to show no fear and to intimidate others.  I see a man who would wish to test the company of those he would serve with.  If they were to fall easilly to his skill, he would either deem them unworthy and plot to use them as pawns in a larger scheme.  I am not sure how you handle level differences in RP.  Some folks are simply let the game mechanics run the show.  My 80 kicks your 50s ass through the floor.  Others use free form RP for conflicts giving advanatges to those of higher level and others reject levels and let the people duke it out according the the rules forged in common.

Regardless, I certainly do not seek to unravel what is set in place or to cause problems or create drama and conflict that flows outside of IC interactions.  I do however want to create a persona who will run against some in the hopes of provoking good story and enjoyable interaction.

Thank you for your post.

Since I can not truly reply in character, as my character is not there standing beside his application to hear these comments and questions. I will endeavor to answer them as if he was present.  I hope this will be acceptable. I am sure you have experienced, or know well, the Death Knight only content so I wont bog you down with particulars.

It was Tirion who fought against us.  Who faced the Dark Master and his incredible power.  My purpose was to see them food for crows.  No flesh was to be spared, even this husk was to be sacrificed if need be. It was Tirion and those alliance fools who opposed the right of the powerful to forge the future.  I will see them dead for thier arrogance and will gladly lay them low and step proudly over their corpses to into a future forged by my hand.

You seem to have mistaken us.  This application is for you to tell us why we would benefit from having you amongst us, not to show off how skilled you are at posturing.  We wish to know how you would describe yourself; as none of us to my knowledge have any plans to "taste of your blade" anytime soon, you'll just have to answer the question a bit more thoroughly before I will be able to decide whether or not interviewing you would prove a worthwhile way to spend my time.

I am also curious as to why you were so eager to serve the Lich King, and whether or not your will is such that it would falter should he beckon to you again.  Fordring commands the Argent Crusade, and there are many among the Grim who fight alongside the Crusade against the agents of the Lich King.  Your purpose then may have been to see Fordring fall, but should you join us you will serve a new master that will have you stay your hand in service of the greater goal.

No Grim does the bidding of the Lich King.  Why would we accept one who would still carry his burdens?
