(IC) What is your gender and race?
      I'm a male blood elf.

(IC) What is your class in life?  Why did you choose to follow this class?
      I'm a blood knight. It's what I do thanks to lies spit at us by our fallen Prince.

(IC) How would you describe yourself?
      I've been called... wild. I don't know really, I just am what I am! I can't stand most of my people though, all diplomatic and whatever. Say what you mean and do what you need to do.. don't make excuses for it!

(IC) What drives you in life?  Why do you want to be Grim?
      It'd be simple to say vengeance, too simple, but it's the truth. Scourge took my home, Alliance my dignity. They drove our prince to madness and ... well, you know what happened from there. The lies just spread, and our ambition and addiction caused us to take and do things that almost again guaranteed our extinction. Pardon my crude orcish but -- fuck that. I want what's owed to me. Blood.

(IC) What did you do prior to The Grim?
      Well, I've been in the Blood Moon ever since the fall of Kael'thas; I've been a mercenary basically. I used to be of the Sunfury, gleefully doing the will of our mad ruler until the Light was taken from us. I mean sure we weren't getting it through ... you know, reputable means, but seriously! It was ours! He had his own magic, his own power, why take mine, er.. ours!? So, with the rest of the Blood Knight order, we swore vengeance, the recurring theme. But unlike Liadrin, just because the high and mighty Sunwell is all glowing and pretty again doesn't mean that we're suddenly redeemed. She's a fool to think that.. there's more work to be done before we ever can make up for our actions, or rise to the power we had.

(IC) What are your thoughts on the pact between the Alliance and the Warchief Thrall?
     What pact!? Are you kidding me? War is all around us, Hellscream knows it and doesn't try to hide it. Thrall would be wise to pick up on that, I think. There's no pact. You kill the enemy, which is the Alliance and the Scourge and anything else that's in the way. Win, or go home and die.

(OOC) The Grim is a role-playing guild that requires full immersion (heavy RP) of their members.  What does that mean to you?
      It means what I've practiced for the past three years. Living the game through your character's eyes.

(OOC)  The Grim are considered a Lawful Evil guild, ruled by structure and a defined chain of command with the intent to see the complete annihilation of their enemies.  How does your character's personality and storyline follow the Grim Mandate?  Is there any conflict between how you want to play your character and the theme of the Grim?  If so, what do you expect out of you joining?
     Well, I expect a little variety when compared to other characters I play. Where one is calculating and calm, always planning, Xiaar is the opposite. He's compulsive and irrational, erratic and fiery. I expect so just.. change things up, really.

(OOC) What sort of role-playing experience do you have, online or off-line?  Do you consider yourself a beginner or Gary Gygax?
      Lots, lots and lots and lots. Been RPing on Twisting Nether since launch, and I ain't stopping soon.

(OOC) Do you have any previous WoW experience?  (PvP, Raiding, Battlegrounds, Different Servers, Different Guilds, Different Factions, etc.)
      I'm currently the Grim's (in-game) Raid Leader... Wait, WHAT?! ( /cackle )

(OOC)  What are you, the player, looking for in the Grim? What are your expectations of the guild?
      The same of what I've been a part of for almost two years now, just with a different character!!

(IC/OOC) Do you have anything further to add?
     Nope!

You very much seem a victim from your answers, despite with how much enthusiasm and hate they were delivered.  Blame and accountability for all the wretched things which have befallen us, you gladly hoist onto the Alliance and the Scourge, which is common enough to be acceptable, yet you would claim to not be able to stand most of our people for... 'being diplomatic and whatever'.

Diplomacy is part of what brought us into the Horde - not the only part, no, but I cannot stand most of my race for accepting the role of victim.


As for blame and accountability...  You blame the lies of our fallen Prince for your choice, mindlessly trusting and uniformed as it might have been, to take up a shield and steal the Light?  Yet a decent amount of us were able to find other things to do with what grace we had left.

You blame the Alliance and Scourge for our fallen Prince's madness, but like him you seem to ignore ten-thousand years of history... just as he did when he turned to the Legion, as if Azshara's folly was not testament enough of just how bad an idea that is?  What is it they say about Power?  And while you blame our own actions on ambition and addiction, you do not seem to hold Kael'Thas to the same motives and faults.

That is quite a trail of blame.  The fact is, a majority of us have failed.  There is one absolute, though: necessity.  Do you understand that without the actions of others pressing it upon you?

Or are you truly a victim?

What? Necessity -- well yeah sure I understand that! I mean, how many of the ones in the Blood Knight order don't understand that?

"Here, take what magic you need from this creature and use it to your will."

I mean sure it's Light, but it's still magic to control my own addiction! Listen, I get that you're trying to get down to my true motive and all that, which is fine. And also, last I checked, I'm not all whining and crying "Oh I'm -only- this way because I was forced!" No way! I never said I was forced! Not. One. Time.

I was, however, misled, as the lot of us were. You, me, the Scryers, all of us. I bought into it, sure -- but it's not like I could do any research or anything.

So yeah, fine.. Kael'thas fell into the same trap as the Highborne, fine, I get it. You will notice though, that I got outta there before I went down with the rest of them! I guess I lacked the insight you claim I shoulda had, but I wasn't blind when the fel came pouring in!

Those two drove us, Kael'thas too, to desperation! Some naga came along, offered to help, then Illidan. It was genuine help at the time.. and sure maybe it seemed a little too good to be true, but hey! Wouldn't have needed to do it if the Alliance backed us up like they swore! Or if the Scourge never ran through our city.

My wanted vengeance is justified in this mind.

No, I don't think you get what I'm trying to do at all.  I'll feign surprise and then everything can go back to being as it was.

Do you do anything for yourself?  Because you want to?  Rather than because someone else messed up your life?

Are we philosophers now that we seek to tease the external from the internal in the eternal battle of will? You are all of you pawns to the world you have lived in, your minds and very thoughts formed by your experience and language. The idea that his *experience* is somehow less worthy a source of drive than a midnight dream or whimsy that came to him as the baking sun cooked his metal head is flawed.

I am forsaken who was human and I say that it was only my experience that proved the mandate. He seeks to follow the mandate. His will appears strong. The source of his drive will not speak to that strength - only trial by fire will prove him worthy to shield me.

And his drive thus makes him incapable of answering questions?  Curious.

Look, the past always effects what you do now, right? I mean, makes sense to me anyway. Anyway, like I said before.. I've been in the Blood Moon ever since it was clear to me that his 'salvation' for us all was turning us over to the Legion for fel magic to feed the addiction. Now I mean, sure I still need my magic, but there are limits, right?!

So anyway, after I left, I've been doing what I -WANT- to. Well, been killing for money, heh, least that's what a mercenary does, right? Now considering I've been a Warden for quite some time now, should y'know -- kinda put me out there as a advocate of the Mandate! Otherwise there are a whole buncha other organizations I could have allied with!

I -want- to be Grim, okay? There's not this external force giving me orders or anything. I'm not trying to say my will is guided by others' actions.. sure it had an effect on how I look at things, but that happens to everyone!

Xiaar will be weighed once more, after he has finished the tasks assigned to him.

I rescind my application. I'll just remain a happy little Moonie!
