(IC) What name or title do you go by?
I am Balkal, Champion of the Naaru
(IC) What is your gender and race?
-I'm am a tauren bull.
(IC) What is your class in life? Why did you choose to follow this class?
-I am a student of our great earthmother and the beliefs of shamanism. I follow these principles in order to further better our land and to answer the call of the spirits.
(IC) How would you describe yourself?
-I find myself a fair person. I like to hear both sides of the story before making a decison. I am kind yet protective of those I care of. I find myself thrown into a unstoppable fury when in combat.
(IC) What drives you in life? Why do you want to be Grim?
-I am driven to survive and destroy the dark evils of this land, and preserve the honorable name of the Horde.
(IC) What did you do prior to The Grim?
-Previously I served under Lord Xyron of Vengeance of the Fallen. As time went on, they reformed under a new banner, and I parted ways. I was very close knit to the original members of Vengeance and I still am to this day. I then found myself serving under new lead. The Glory of the Red Hand. I found close comfort with the aid of Kurgal and Morgosh. But my stay was shorter then I would have wished. The guild began to fall apart at the seams, leaving only a spec of the former might and glory of the mighty clan. I could not stand to see it reduced from its former glory, it pained me. I recieved an invitation, to you, The Grim, and I am honored to recieve this gesture.
(IC) What are your thoughts on the pact between the Alliance and the Warchief Thrall?
-The tension between the orcish Horde and the Alliance is not something that will dwindle. While I wish there could be peace between us, I know this will not happen for any extended period. But even so, I fight proudly under the banner of the Horde, and I fight to defend the Horde, and would gladly give myself up for it.
(OOC) The Grim is a role-playing guild that requires full immersion (heavy RP) of their members. What does that mean to you?
-I have always held the Grim in high reverence, ever since I heard of them. I always have had this repsect. I enjoy RPing very much, but it seems ages since I have had RP'd as I did in Vengeance. This is something I miss dearly and would love to continue to do.
(OOC) The Grim are considered a Lawful Evil guild, ruled by structure and a defined chain of command with the intent to see the complete annihilation of their enemies. How does your character's personality and storyline follow the Grim Mandate? Is there any conflict between how you want to play your character and the theme of the Grim? If so, what do you expect out of you joining?
-Balkal has a strong sense of justice and military chain of command. He serves with conviction and loyalty. He frowns upon the slaughter of the weak with just cause. ((I.E. ganking lowbies for no apparant reason.))
(OOC) What sort of role-playing experience do you have, online or off-line? Do you consider yourself a beginner or Gary Gygax?
-I would consider myself just over the average. I'm perhaps not the best RP'er, but I certainly have my experience, and at no point would consider myself a beginner.
(OOC) Do you have any previous WoW experience? (PvP, Raiding, Battlegrounds, Different Servers, Different Guilds, Different Factions, etc.)
-I never raided too far in BC due to coming in late and not really ever joining a hard core raiding guild. I did fairly well in PvP BC, even as an enhancement shaman. I still PvP as enhance but find it a more difficult challenge with the new way the class works, survivability issues, and getting dropped in seconds by our comrades in the former service of the Lich King, and those heavily clad avengers of the light. I do enjoy raiding and heroics in moderation. I haven't done very much in Lich King raidwise, except a clear or two of Naxx and some Sarth. I am mostly horde, but I do have a sixtiesh character on Lightninghoof for RP in a fine RP guild, but I find the RP on that server sparse and don't play it much anymore.
(OOC) What are you, the player, looking for in the Grim? What are your expectations of the guild?
-I am looking for a fun time, RP events, friends. A place where I can feel more at home.
(IC/OOC) Do you have anything further to add?
I thank you for taking the time to read this application, aha.
