Grim Application For Fremen
How did you hear about The Grim? Do you know anyone in The Grim?
While I am not the best or most creative at RP I've been in search of RP for the longest time. Chance encounters haven't been warmly met thus far. After weeks of various raid, group and gen chat probes I was told about a channel called Eclipse. In that channel I learned about The Grim. I do not know anyone in The Grim.
The forums are The Grim’s primary method of communication. Will you check them regularly (at least a few times a week)?
My work hours are long and very often unpredictable. I can promise weekly even twice a week, but several times a week will best be stated that I will do my best.
Tell us about your roleplaying experience. In WoW? Elsewhere? Do you consider yourself a heavy RPer? What does that mean to you?
I was an officer and still hold a supportive leadership role in a SWTOR RP/PVP guild on the Jung-Ma server. We RP'd very often and had strict guideline as we are military RP, however, my heart has and always has been with WoW. I returned to Wow 2 months ago. Little to no experience in WoW RP and primarily had a supportive RP role in all my RP online lifetime. I don't RP on the heavy side, no, frankly it would be nice to but I am not creative enough to meet that standard.
To me RP means immersing yourself in the game experience. Something I love.
Roommates live in my home and I sometimes have a daughter who plays WoW with me often. So distractions happen here.
The Grim are considered a Lawful Evil guild. Do you have any experience playing a character of this alignment or a character archetype that believes in structure with evil intent?
No, the most experience, if you want to call it that, I have had is with lawful good and chaotic good, and there was a guild campaign in SWTOR that a splinter group of our guild did that involved complete genocide and was at times chaotic evil because of darkside influences. But rarely was apart of anything neutral. Structure with evil intent sounds fun.
Have you been part of any other guilds in World of Warcraft? If so, who were they and what server do or did they reside on? Let us know of your experience with them and what made you decide to either leave or continue to stay.
I have been in and out of guilds for around 2 months+/- and really just looking for the right home. None of which had any RP but stayed for the guild chat or just plain company. I joined a guild called Texans of Azeroth because I live in Texas but is a large amount of people doing their own thing. Nothing is ever on the calendar and without warning see guild raid/dung/etc achievements pop up, however none of it is ever on the website. Again structure with evil intent seems all the more fulfilling..
Are you applying on an alt (non-main) character? If so, what are you looking for here that you are not getting from your main character? If you are feeling honest or adventurous, please let us know who your main is.
This is becoming my main certainly, to date since coming back to WoW this toon has seen more game time than any of them, even boredom time like flying around randomly looking for alliance to kill, however, Fremen is anti-ganking unless its warranted, for example I will not kill a low level alliance for sport unless I suspect, know or see it killed any level Horde... While I hate the alliance, I happen to have some, well you could say, standards. My "main"/now-alt is an undead warlock (GrizzlyGal) which is parked as a place holder in the ToA guild. I rarely play her, but love my current (Fremen), although having demons would be epic for a priest imo.
What race and class is this character? Why did you choose this race and class?
Blood Elf Holy Priest, and hmm damn good question. Now that I really think about it I believe because structure with evil intent is what literally sums it up.
What are your expectations for your character after joining The Grim? What aspect of the game do you wish to focus on (raids, rated battlegrounds, arenas, challenge modes, achievements, etc.)?
I want Fremen to be the best he can be and have fun while doing so. I have been a part of, fought with and fought against guilds like The Grim in my opinion and they are what make MMO's fun. After all it keeps tradition alive.
As far as focus.... well... I suck at PVP but do my best to win. I find I am decent at cleansing and healing groups but cant seem to find the right cocktail for getting tf off the stun train. That frustrates me in BG's, other than that I love everything about this game. I desire immersion in whole. And I know when I have alone time in this house and on those nights you can set a clock by what I do: I drink, log in and get lost in this game. The only PVP I really excelled at was in the old battlenet when it was chat rooms with moderators and I knew basics of script and flooded out rival guilds without mercy. My clan was (42o) lol and my u/n was (42o)=42o= our home channel was ... 420 lol
What is your PvE (player-versus-environment) experience in World of Warcraft? What classes and roles do you enjoy the most in a raid environment? Do you have any PvE experience from other MMO games?
I played it everyday when it was first released for a couple of years before moving and not having internet forever. I have to admit I love the hunter/dps but don't pay enough attention to interrupt when I am supposed to when relied upon.
Other PVExp from the day the original Warcraft and then Starcraft were release in the 90's as a kid I played them often, and my daughter has been playing WoW since she was 5. Play SWTOR for many years as well and do still every other week or month for maybe an hour at most... totally burnt out on it and role in that guild. Also the only games I play are PC-MMO.
What is your PvP (player-versus-player) experience in World of Warcraft? What classes and roles do you enjoy the most in a PvP environment? Do you have any PvP experience in other MMO games?
The more the better. Ashran was a fun thing Blizzard did, could use a tad work but BGs are epic too, I usually dont do well with 2's or 1, they really suck if I bet them.... well that or I am teamed with an elite.
Always hunter, love that class - survival / lonewolf
PVP Heals in SWTOR a lot of XP but again wasn't the best. LOS is much more strict in SWTOR than in Wow and that gave me a huge advantage in pvp there.
Did you read and understand our guidelines on character names, listed at the beginning of this application? (Please note, if your name does not fall within our guidelines and you do not want to do a name change, you are more than welcome to apply under a different character.)
Yes
How is your computer performance when playing World of Warcraft? What is your FPS/load times during heavy graphical or high population times? Is your internet connection stable?
Gaming PC is down indef, however years as a bench tech taught a few tricks of the trade, this PC is Windows 7 era old but tweaked enough that it works. I average 52fps but get lower during high populace/gameplay.
Provide an armory link to your character.

What days/times do you typically play this character?
Usually all weekday nights, times never certain because of work and/or being on call, weekends are currently as much as possible but not always.
Have you read the Required Reading? Do you have any questions or concerns about anything there?
Yes I have actually, well done.. And yes please I have a Q, VOIP is blocked solid on my network for known exploits. This is a constant issue for my love of MMO's and am working on a second line to home for gaming only. I don't have an ETA yet but it is certain it will be soon. Does this make or break my chance? If so can we slow this process until they bring in a new line? Or do I need to start over?
Have you read the Mandate? Do you have any questions or concerns about it? Can your character live by it?
Yes, no and yes.
Do you have anything further to add?
You guys seem like a lot of fun, I hope I can be a part of it!
