Grim Application For: Defyler
How did you hear about The Grim? Do you know anyone in The Grim?
- I found the guild with the in-game looking for guild tool, the details of the guild said that it was a active RP guild and so I applied right away.
I spoke to Lilliana in game about the guild and the joining process.
The forums are The Grim’s primary method of communication. Will you check them regularly (at least a few times a week)?
- Yep, it is not a problem to check in and see what’s going on in the forums from time to time.
Tell us about your roleplaying experience. In WoW? Elsewhere? Do you consider yourself a heavy RPer? What does that mean to you?
-I am an active RPer outside of wow, playing DnD 5e, Pathfinder and GMing Deathwatch pen and paper games every Friday with some of my friends using the roll20 website. I enjoy making characters and developing their story with what happens in game.
RP and Pen and paper games are a large source of enjoyment for me, as I get to use the creative parts of my brain and let me imagination run wild with concepts for characters or worlds.
The Grim are considered a Lawful Evil guild. Do you have any experience playing a character of this alignment or a character archetype that believes in structure with evil intent?
- Yes one of my favorite characters was a lawful evil anti-paladin I played in Pathfinder.
Have you been part of any other guilds in World of Warcraft? If so, who were they and what server do or did they reside on? Let us know of your experience with them and what made you decide to either leave or continue to stay.
- I have been in many guilds, that didn’t really hold any community or interaction for me.
Normally guild chat is just a private trade chat that I try to ignore, however an RP guild would be very enjoyable and a nice change of pace for me.
Reading the creative stories that guild members are telling and maybe becoming a part of their story, has great appeal for me.
Are you applying on an alt (non-main) character? If so, what are you looking for here that you are not getting from your main character? If you are feeling honest or adventurous, please let us know who your main is.
- This will be my main, I plan on leveling through legion and staying on this server for good.
What race and class is this character? Why did you choose this race and class?
- Blood elf Rogue, I picked this race/class combo because I like the idea of playing a dashing bandit/outlaw, and the other races didn’t feel right for that idea in my head.
What are your expectations for your character after joining The Grim? What aspect of the game do you wish to focus on (raids, rated battlegrounds, arenas, challenge modes, achievements, etc.
- I don't have many expectations as to what my character will be doing other than RP i am not really bothered about what I do, I enjoy PvP more than hardcore raiding, but that said, working in a team to take down a tough boss is just as rewarding and being a killing machine in PvP.
What is your PvE (player-versus-environment) experience in World of Warcraft? What classes and roles do you enjoy the most in a raid environment? Do you have any PvE experience from other MMO games?
-I have tanked, healed and DPSed my way through all of the BC content and most the Wrath/MoP/WoD stuff (Skipped Cata), but I enjoy DPS most as it is far less stressful than tanking or healing for raids.
What is your PvP (player-versus-player) experience in World of Warcraft? What classes and roles do you enjoy the most in a PvP environment? Do you have any PvP experience in other MMO games?
- I held a good arena rank in BC but I haven’t played at that level in a long time, some of my fondest memories of WoW are the 2v2 arena games I played in BC, outside of WoW the only other MMO I really enjoyed was EVE online, and the PvP for that game was very team based, with a massive need to follow orders and plans to achieve any goals in combat.
Did you read and understand our guidelines on character names, listed at the beginning of this application? (Please note, if your name does not fall within our guidelines and you do not want to do a name change, you are more than welcome to apply under a different character.)
- Yes I understand them, and if need be I could change the name/reapply.
How is your computer performance when playing World of Warcraft? What is your FPS/load times during heavy graphical or high population times? Is your internet connection stable?
- I sit at 98+ FPS, Load times are short and I play on ultra-spec so if things start to get hairy on the graphic side of things I would just turn it down, as for the internet I live in New Zealand so I have a 200ms approx. ping all the time but it is stable.
Provide an armory link to your character.

What days/times do you typically play this character?
- I have time off until Feb then I am back to University so I will have the evenings and the weekends to play, when I am not working on projects or assignments. So that would be, 1pm-5am server for weekdays while at Uni and anytime on the weekends.
Have you read the Required Reading? Do you have any questions or concerns about anything there?
- Yes I have read all of the required content, I don’t have any questions that spring to mind.
Have you read the Mandate? Do you have any questions or concerns about it? Can your character live by it?
- Yes I have read the mandate, I would like to RP the transition to full evil with the guidance of the guild, I feel that would be a fun RP thing to do, the change form Chaotic Neutral to Lawful Evil will allow me to evolve and develop the character as time goes on.
Do you have anything further to add?
- I like to build my character around the experiences that they have within a party or setting, so Defyler is not fully developed, and will grow into the lawful evil rogue that The Grim shapes him to be.

Come to the Inquisition on Monday night at 8:30pm. If that time doesn't work for you, the following Monday is 7pm server time. If neither of those work, we can work something out for you.
