Grim Application For Krelion

How did you hear about The Grim? Do you know anyone in The Grim?

- I've been active on Twisting Nether since Vanilla (on and off). In other words, I've witnessed, "The Grim," in active RP (non-participant) and through various chat channels.

The forums are The Grim’s primary method of communication. Will you check them regularly (at least a few times a week)?

- I've already bounced on and off of these forums reading as much as I can in between my daily routine and in-game activities. Yes, I'll be active on these forums as well as keep up with them.

Tell us about your roleplaying experience. In WoW? Elsewhere? Do you consider yourself a heavy RPer? What does that mean to you?

- Full immersion is something I've always wanted to experience. Although I've made efforts in the past to create RP communities - it is very hard to sustain. My attention towards detail in my character tends to give me stage fright over trying to over analyze various aspects of my character and the RP as it takes place in World of Warcraft's lore. I've spent the majority of my time organizing and running raids when I've fully dedicated myself to the game, though my prime was in Burning Crusade to Wrath of the Lich King. I haven't always prioritized RP, but if all are welcoming and helpful - I'll gladly hop aboard.

The Grim are considered a Lawful Evil guild. Do you have any experience playing a character of this alignment or a character archetype that believes in structure with evil intent?

- I've always had fun with my personality posing as a Lawful Good or Chaotic Evil. Those two are probably the most natural shoes that I can feel. In real life, I'm good natured with a hell of a temper. It shines through when how I interact in-game and how I'd project my characters perspective over certain things.

Have you been part of any other guilds in World of Warcraft? If so, who were they and what server do or did they reside on? Let us know of your experience with them and what made you decide to either leave or continue to stay.

- To keep a long history short, I won't bother mentioning guilds that didn't quite suit me. I'm a loyalist when it comes to accruing time with people socially and functionally. Starting with Vanilla (Malygos PvE Server) I was part of, "Blood Rise," which was primarily PvE and had a few dedicated High Warlords that provoked me into trying PvP servers. Once I turned this Warlock (which was a twink in Vanilla) into my main in Burning Crusade, I joined, "Acumen," and raided with them for almost a full year. I then started my own guild, "Ashes of the Phoenix," and maintained a 25man roster for almost two full years. Since then, I haven't fully committed to any particular guild as the game felt different to me from being an integral player to the guild to being a standard member.

Are you applying on an alt (non-main) character? If so, what are you looking for here that you are not getting from your main character? If you are feeling honest or adventurous, please let us know who your main is.

- No, Krelion is certainly my main and will be for Legion. Unless, with a request for composition, I can certainly work towards another character.

What race and class is this character? Why did you choose this race and class?

- I chose Blood Elf simply due to my interest to their lore in-game as well as their proposed personality. I think this race is as controversial as it comes when interacting with the Horde. There are many angles and many approaches that I could take towards other members of the Horde. Warlock, because the class by far has been my favorite aesthetically and thematically. The Demons were always my favorite aspect of the story of Warcraft, going back to the RTS days. I think as well, they fit Blood Elves in the sense that they could fight fire with fire, but is also another controversial choice in which provides more interesting outcomes when interacting with other Blood Elves.

What are your expectations for your character after joining The Grim? What aspect of the game do you wish to focus on (raids, rated battlegrounds, arenas, challenge modes, achievements, etc.)?

- I'm a jack of all trades when it comes to in-game activity. I am comfortable in most roles and confident enough to maintain an above average performance in most. Raiding has always been a primary focus as PvP is much more flexible, but it all depends on what is made available. I know the raiding schedule, it works with my day to day schedule, but if PvP is offered I certainly want to double dip.

What is your PvE (player-versus-environment) experience in World of Warcraft? What classes and roles do you enjoy the most in a raid environment? Do you have any PvE experience from other MMO games?

- My history with raiding goes back to Molten Core, since then Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King were my prime times in raiding. My own raiding guild was pushing Ulduar the week it was released, while keeping 25mans on farm. In which I participated in every possible opportunity that raiding came up. Since then, I've casually raided and missed a good portion of Mists of Pandaria and the start of Warlords of Draenor's raiding content. I'm very comfortable tanking, but as it is, it's hard to join a guild with the aspiration of becoming main tank. Most serious raiding guilds have several people on tap for tanking, alternatively I enjoy ranged DPS. I'm okay with healing, it just tends to be a simple whack-o-mole experience.

What is your PvP (player-versus-player) experience in World of Warcraft? What classes and roles do you enjoy the most in a PvP environment? Do you have any PvP experience in other MMO games?

- I've never climbed very high on the PvP ladder as I mentioned, I treated it as a secondary. Most of the people I ran arenas with were very casual and didn't push very hard. We meandered around 1100-1500 range and that was enough. Although, my RBG experience is limited to my recent guild, "Ascendants of War." Which again, consisted of their off-team and were very casual players themselves.

Did you read and understand our guidelines on character names, listed at the beginning of this application? (Please note, if your name does not fall within our guidelines and you do not want to do a name change, you are more than welcome to apply under a different character.)

- Yes

How is your computer performance when playing World of Warcraft? What is your FPS/load times during heavy graphical or high population times? Is your internet connection stable?

- My computer handles World of Warcraft at around 50-60 Frames in most of Ashran and 60 constant elsewhere including raids on Ultra.
Core i7 2600k Quad Core Processor, GTX 970 and 16G Ram

Provide an armory link to your character.

What days/times do you typically play this character?

- EST 4:30pm - 10:30pm Mon-Fri and any time on the weekends.

Have you read the Required Reading? Do you have any questions or concerns about anything there?

-Yes and none particularly.

Have you read the Mandate? Do you have any questions or concerns about it? Can your character live by it?

- My character is still somewhat under development, let's call it a little bit of over stressing and writer's block. It's a cookie cutter type of Blood Elf lusting for power by any means necessary, hence becoming a Warlock. To take some of the suspicion of this answer away, I do believe he can and I certainly enjoy the theme.

Do you have anything further to add?

- If you are reading this far, I hope that some leniency is given towards my lack of experience in full immersion. It's been quite a while since I took RP to that level. I used to enjoy writing a lot, so when given the opportunity and some assistance, I'll happily push my creativity into a somewhat guided direction.

IC app man! We'll reply in character when your toon can come interview/be grilled.

No worries about "lack of experience in full immersion". Once you are around others that are in that particular mode, it just kind of follows (i.e. having guild chat in character at ALL times). It just happens.

Come to the Inquisition on Monday night at 8:30pm. If that time doesn't work for you, the following Monday is 7pm server time. If neither of those work, we can work something out for you.
