Grim Application For Tankenstien
How did you hear about The Grim? Do you know anyone in The Grim?
-Eclipse chat ingame
The forums are The Grim’s primary method of communication. Will you check them regularly (at least a few times a week)?
-Not a problem
Tell us about your roleplaying experience. In WoW? Elsewhere? Do you consider yourself a heavy RPer? What does that mean to you?
-Done a lot of rp in my D&D groups. Im the one at the table explaining to others why you cant use meta knowledge. I also do viking reenactments (long story, learn more at http://www.vinlandvikings.org) where i interact with the public as a living history character. and i beat my friends up with real swords and axes
The Grim are considered a Lawful Evil guild. Do you have any experience playing a character of this alignment or a character archetype that believes in structure with evil intent?
-Played a grey guard paladin. (quasi fallen paladin archtype in D&D 4th ed). Had a good buildup on the side of law. The best part of a paladin is when they fall. What pushes a person of holy vengance to the point where he breaks his coven. And how far does he go to let that moment define him. So I guess that counts?
Have you been part of any other guilds in World of Warcraft? If so, who were they and what server do or did they reside on? Let us know of your experience with them and what made you decide to either leave or continue to stay.
-Talent, on twisting nether - just raiding and shenanigans, made MT and officer in a week. Nothing too serious though.
Are you applying on an alt (non-main) character? If so, what are you looking for here that you are not getting from your main character? If you are feeling honest or adventurous, please let us know who your main is.
-my main is the deathknight known as Tankenstien. A nickname he earned from a member of the argent crusade. Im told Its from some book ive never read, in part. I come to the grim after long contemplation of my purpose after the fall of the lichking.
What race and class is this character? Why did you choose this race and class?
-Orc. Deathknight. Played a troll shaman waaaay back in vanilla (oh the shame, I would say I could tank for pugs… shudder) then played a troll warrior. Got sick of bare feet rastafarians lol. Played some alliance (more shame) and the when wotlk came out, made a dk with my first orc. Fell in love with the lore about orcs reading the warcraft novels. Wasn’t what I was expecting.
What are your expectations for your character after joining The Grim? What aspect of the game do you wish to focus on (raids, rated battlegrounds, arenas, challenge modes, achievements, etc.)?
-I enjoy raiding but my work schedule is difficult. It’s a modular shift work. I can usually plan ahead so long as I have notice, but I cannot guarantee a regular night off every week.
What is your PvE (player-versus-environment) experience in World of Warcraft? What classes and roles do you enjoy the most in a raid environment? Do you have any PvE experience from other MMO games?
-I. love. Tanking. I like being the meat shield. Is funny to me.
What is your PvP (player-versus-player) experience in World of Warcraft? What classes and roles do you enjoy the most in a PvP environment? Do you have any PvP experience in other MMO games?
-not too much sadly, I don’t think tank mindset applies to pvp. I do try kill alliance players who don’t /wave back at me though.
Did you read and understand our guidelines on character names, listed at the beginning of this application? (Please note, if your name does not fall within our guidelines and you do not want to do a name change, you are more than welcome to apply under a different character.)
-yes. My characters in game name isn't his true name. it’s a nickname given to him shortly after his breaking free from the lich kings will. He believes his true name died with him.
How is your computer performance when playing World of Warcraft? What is your FPS/load times during heavy graphical or high population times? Is your internet connection stable?
-4k monitor at 60fps solid in warspear. I wont boast, but I have an i7980x (12 core processor) and a gtx 980 graphics card. Fibre internet and I WORK for my ISP.
Provide an armory link to your character.

What days/times do you typically play this character?
-late afternoon/evening usually. Very late evening aswell.
Have you read the Required Reading? Do you have any questions or concerns about anything there?
-noting glaring. Im new to rp on wow so ill make mistakes.
Have you read the Mandate? Do you have any questions or concerns about it? Can your character live by it?
-I have. I don’t. I can.
Do you have anything further to add?
-not really. i do viking reenactments IRL

Thanks for your interest in The Grim.
Our guild explicitly follows the Blizzard RP naming policy, and it is not uncommon for applicants to endure a character name-change prior to consideration for acceptance.
One example of name violations is as follows:

Tankenstein is an obvious reference to the work by Mary Shelley and unfortunately does not meet our standards. If you are willing to request a name change by Blizzard, then we would be happy to consider your character for the Inquisition.Blizzard wrote:Names that reference well known people, characters, places, or icons (for example: Britneyspears, Austinpowers, Mcdonalds, Georgewashington, Newyork).
