Grim Application For Cromsk-Ravenholdt

How did you hear about The Grim? Do you know anyone in The Grim?
- In Ashran, started by roleplaying my ‘mad’ Orc Death Knight with visions of the future apocalypse through potato eating symbolism. I have interacted a number of times with several members in and out of roleplay.

The forums are The Grim’s primary method of communication. Will you check them regularly (at least a few times a week)?
- Yes.

Tell us about your roleplaying experience. In WoW? Elsewhere? Do you consider yourself a heavy RPer? What does that mean to you?
- I am heavy in both respects. I am an overweight role-player, and I am almost always in-character. I used to role-play a forsaken warrior and quit after 3.3.5. I try to avoid linking my characters to downfalls or directly impacting the ‘lore’ in any way.

The Grim are considered a Lawful Evil guild. Do you have any experience playing a character of this alignment or a character archetype that believes in structure with evil intent?
- I role-play a 1st generation death knight. Started as Chaotic/Evil but over the years he has recognized a need for structure and a code of honor.

Have you been part of any other guilds in World of Warcraft? If so, who were they and what server do or did they reside on? Let us know of your experience with them and what made you decide to either leave or continue to stay.
- None that exist today, I was more of a loner role-player during my childhood.

Are you applying on an alt (non-main) character? If so, what are you looking for here that you are not getting from your main character? If you are feeling honest or adventurous, please let us know who your main is.
- I am applying on my main, if I had more than one role-play character I would go mad.

What race and class is this character? Why did you choose this race and class?
- Orc Death Knight, I was a longtime fan of the Death Knights in War Craft II: Tides of Darkness.Always played as the Horde.

What are your expectations for your character after joining The Grim? What aspect of the game do you wish to focus on (raids, rated battlegrounds, arenas, challenge modes, achievements, etc.)?
- I expect his role-play potential and overall story to improve. My focus is RP-PvP.

What is your PvE (player-versus-environment) experience in World of Warcraft? What classes and roles do you enjoy the most in a raid environment? Do you have any PvE experience from other MMO games?
- I know enough to not cause the team to wipe. I have back-up glyphs so my AotD does not threat-gen, but I always enjoy PvE due to the Lore it involves. I main as DPS, but I have experience in all three of the Death Knights presences. I ‘can’ tank, but I prefer not to due to my low ‘dodge’ armor.

What is your PvP (player-versus-player) experience in World of Warcraft? What classes and roles do you enjoy the most in a PvP environment? Do you have any PvP experience in other MMO games?
- I love pvp, Unholy Death Knight, AoE DPS and clean-up/escape denial, Working on my Epic pvp set. I used to Play SWTOR Always had my Flag on.

Did you read and understand our guidelines on character names, listed at the beginning of this application? (Please note, if your name does not fall within our guidelines and you do not want to do a name change, you are more than welcome to apply under a different character.)
- Yes

How is your computer performance when playing World of Warcraft? What is your FPS/load times during heavy graphical or high population times? Is your internet connection stable?
- I rarely -if never- lose connection, only time I would is if a Family member neglects to check with everyone prior to resetting the router. Graphically speaking my computer can handle High Volume players at a medium graphics setting with little to no chop. Will check FPS. Load times are fast as I only use MyRolePlay3 and Bagnon addons.

Provide an armory link to your character.

What days/times do you typically play this character?
- At least for a couple hours every day. Typically between 8pm-2am server time week/work days. And all throughout the day on days off and Sunday.

Have you read the Required Reading? Do you have any questions or concerns about anything there?
- Yes I have, No I do not.

Have you read the Mandate? Do you have any questions or concerns about it? Can your character live by it?
- Yes I have, No I do not. My character could live letter to the law of the mandate.

Do you have anything further to add.

Whether I am accepted or not, it will not change my opinion of your group.

Hey Cromsk, nice to hear from you.

Question about your character:
I role-play a 1st generation death knight. Started as Chaotic/Evil but over the years he has recognized a need for structure and a code of honor.
If you follow the lore during the Tides of Darkness, all of the first generation death knights were the souls of orc warlocks placed inside of the corpses of human knights.

Cromsk is an orc, not a human. This may be violating one of our racial standards:
The Grim do not accept non-standard Horde races such as dragons, ogres, or arakkoa. Applicants are expected to adhere to the playable races (orc, troll, forsaken, etc), though specific distinctions are permitted. These would include mountain trolls versus forest trolls, Mag’har orcs versus greenskins, and other minor cosmetic differences.
There does not appear to be any precedent in the lore for a 1G death knight in an orc body. How would you reconcile this?

The return to an earlier parallel Draenor has allowed Cromsk to find a version of his younger self, with the wealth of Knowledge concerning the dark rituals while under the tutelage of Gul'dan. He was able to repossess a body that would accept his soul with little difficulty.

Originally my character was a Forsaken, to represent the human body, after the release of Warlords of Draenor I took advantage of a situation in which killing his younger self would have no impact in his Azeroth's timeline.

Interesting. It had occurred to me, as my character is also an orc, that there might be a Khorvis running around on this parallel Draenor. I chose not to pursue it, to avoid confusion, and general distaste for unwieldy time-travel paradoxes. Your solution is simple and elegant.

I accept the explanation, and Ruuki has responded to your letter of intent in-character. If I understand your reply correctly, you would arrive on time?

I will arrive on the day, but due to work reasons I would not be signed in until 2 hours after. She said she would wait via private message.
