Grim Application For kuberr

How did you hear about The Grim? Do you know anyone in The Grim?
Former member from ~2013.

The forums are The Grim’s primary method of communication. Will you check them regularly (at least a few times a week)?
Yes

Tell us about your roleplaying experience. In WoW? Elsewhere? Do you consider yourself a heavy RPer? What does that mean to you?
- Heavy Rper. I'm a writer so it's a great way to practice character building and merging a character with an evolving world. It's great practice.

The Grim are considered a Lawful Evil guild. Do you have any experience playing a character of this alignment or a character archetype that believes in structure with evil intent?

One of my previous characters Magrayth was a priestess of her "god" Kuberr. Lawful evil indeed. The premise was that gold is power, subterfuge and politic heavy. I intend to stick to the same story arc. So I believe we can have some fun with it.
-

Have you been part of any other guilds in World of Warcraft? If so, who were they and what server do or did they reside on? Let us know of your experience with them and what made you decide to either leave or continue to stay.
On Twisting Nether I was a member of the All Blood elf guild, I don't remember the name off hand. It was during the time The Grim, The BE guild and some others were active. I also lead my guild The Cabal based in Ravendholt Manor. I stayed with them until work and the military limited my play time.
-

Are you applying on an alt (non-main) character? If so, what are you looking for here that you are not getting from your main character? If you are feeling honest or adventurous, please let us know who your main is.
- Kuberr is my favorite though I have plenty of other characters. My favorite aspect of MMOrpg's is the RP aspect, so while I may do some pvp on them I will always be on Kuberr.

What race and class is this character? Why did you choose this race and class?
- Kuberr is an Undead Warlock. The actual character comes from a Magic the Gathering novel during the Dominira block. He was the god of Phage, Braids, and the Cabal. he represented the Black mana in that multiverse. I fell in love with the idea of the cabal while reading the novel and thought "what if Kuberr was in Azeroth, how would he pursue building a power base there?" The idea stuck and here I am. Undead of course seemed like the obvious choice, and a warlock melded well with the idea of both power, magic and greed.

What are your expectations for your character after joining The Grim? What aspect of the game do you wish to focus on (raids, rated battlegrounds, arenas, challenge modes, achievements, etc.)?
- I'm a hardcore Rper. To the point I can be found rp'ing battlegrounds, questing and such even alone x_x. I'm also an accomplished Pvper with the gladiator title from Season 2. It's been awhile since I've played competetively but I still enjoy it.

What is your PvE (player-versus-environment) experience in World of Warcraft? What classes and roles do you enjoy the most in a raid environment? Do you have any PvE experience from other MMO games?
Not very large on Pve, though I do love the environment WoW offers and I explore that whenever possible. I've also played Tera Fate of Arun and have pve experience from there.

What is your PvP (player-versus-player) experience in World of Warcraft? What classes and roles do you enjoy the most in a PvP environment? Do you have any PvP experience in other MMO games?
- I've reached Gladiator on another Warlock in Season 2 with a Rogue and Shaman in 3's. in Pvp I enjoyed playing a Boomkin in pvp during TBC :D. I've done Pvp in Vindictus, Tera, League of Legends, Dota, Command and Conquer, Archeage, Entropia, Planetside 2, Guild Wars 2 and Smite.

Did you read and understand our guidelines on character names, listed at the beginning of this application? (Please note, if your name does not fall within our guidelines and you do not want to do a name change, you are more than welcome to apply under a different character.)
- I do.

How is your computer performance when playing World of Warcraft? What is your FPS/load times during heavy graphical or high population times? Is your internet connection stable?
- fps is locked at 60, until I start during Arenas.

Provide an armory link to your character.

What days/times do you typically play this character?
- Usually after 6:30pm EST Mon-Thursday. weekends depend on if I have any plans.

Have you read the Required Reading? Do you have any questions or concerns about anything there?
Yes. No questions.

Have you read the Mandate? Do you have any questions or concerns about it? Can your character live by it?
- The mandate works very well for Kuberr :)

Do you have anything further to add?
I look forward to having fun with you all!

Thank you for your application.

Two questions:

1. As Syreena asked, who was your character within the Grim previously?

2.
Kuberr wrote:The actual character comes from a Magic the Gathering novel during the Dominira block. He was the god of Phage, Braids, and the Cabal. he represented the Black mana in that multiverse. Here is a section from our naming policy:

"The Grim adheres to Blizzard's naming conventions for RP realms. This includes requiring believably medieval or fantasy names for all characters; not allowing characters with names that reference real-world people, places, characters or icons from other games, tv shows or movies; and disallowing names constructed from sentence fragments."

Honestly, I am unfamiliar with the name Kuberr and MTG in general, and after some research, this is an apparently minor character. I do not have an issue with the name itself.

I am concerned with your character intent. Do you plan to simply roleplay a character archetype inspired by this Kuberr from the MTG universe? If so, that is fine. If you intend to have your character literally be the MTG Numena come to Azeroth with the exact same backstory, then we cannot admit Kuberr. That would be an infringement on copyrighted material, not to mention against the Grim's policy to roleplay within the lore of Warcraft.

Once you've answered these two questions, you will also need to create an in-character Letter of Intent and post it in the appropriate subforum.

I'd like to add on one more question, since it doesn't seem these have been answered yet.

Since you were former Grim, what was it that drew you away the first time?
