Grim Application For Hannibhal
How did you hear about The Grim? Do you know anyone in The Grim?
-I searched for guilds in RPPVP servers and found yours. I believe when I played Alliance I fought your members before. They were very good.
The forums are The Grim’s primary method of communication. Will you check them regularly (at least a few times a week)?
-Of course, i'm used to having to do so in previous guilds.
Tell us about your roleplaying experience. In WoW? Elsewhere? Do you consider yourself a heavy RPer? What does that mean to you?
-Well I began in old days of AOL RP back when I was really young, DnD and other tabletops, I chose a RPPvP realm my first time in wow and never regretted it, it was a lot of fun. I do consider myself a heavy RPer by terms of experience, and knowing the subtleties of whats in good taste, manners, staying consistent with a character story and most importantly, when to help facilitate other's RP.
The Grim are considered a Lawful Evil guild. Do you have any experience playing a character of this alignment or a character archetype that believes in structure with evil intent?
-Sure, though it would be my first time in WoW playing Horde, let alone as Lawful Evil, I've ran and played many evil table top games. For me personally I found that the key is to make sure that even though you do something Evil, there's some logic behind it, or an emotional reason. Not just twirling a mustache and wringing my hands for the sake of Evil.
Have you been part of any other guilds in World of Warcraft? If so, who were they and what server do or did they reside on? Let us know of your experience with them and what made you decide to either leave or continue to stay.
-I was in a lot but the most dominant one was Guardians of the Light on Venture Co. I eventually ran the PvP division which at the time was non-existent because people got intimidated by it. So I decided to motivate people by making it "Exclusive" a catchy name "SHIELDS" (before avengers movies and popularity) and told people they couldn't join without a piece of PvP gear, which made it seem like a requirement but really was easy to obtain and got people into playing PvP. We did pretty good and people enjoyed it. Personal reasons with my Ex (ugh) caused me to stop WoW altogether and thus the guild.
Are you applying on an alt (non-main) character? If so, what are you looking for here that you are not getting from your main character? If you are feeling honest or adventurous, please let us know who your main is.
-No, my main will be applying, Hannibhal.
What race and class is this character? Why did you choose this race and class?
-Blood Elf Death Knight, although undead was very tempting I just liked how they looked as Death Knight which is important to me. I wanted to play a class that had a tanking or healer ability so I could be utilitarian if I was needed. Though I prefer DPS
What are your expectations for your character after joining The Grim? What aspect of the game do you wish to focus on (raids, rated battlegrounds, arenas, challenge modes, achievements, etc.)?
-PvP in general works best for me and I enjoy it.(rated, arena, world, etc.) Though I do miss raiding and would like to participate again. I enjoy RP and wanted others to participate with, gets lonely out there.
What is your PvE (player-versus-environment) experience in World of Warcraft? What classes and roles do you enjoy the most in a raid environment? Do you have any PvE experience from other MMO games?
-I started on BC, and raided up to Sunwell, can't remember if I completed it. WoTLK was my hayday, fought Lich King many times, never defeated him.
What is your PvP (player-versus-player) experience in World of Warcraft? What classes and roles do you enjoy the most in a PvP environment? Do you have any PvP experience in other MMO games?
-I played Mage mostly but transitioned to Rogue later on and had a Arena 2s team with a Resto Druid (TreeSap was our name) I don't remember how high we got on rating but it wasn't terrible, but nothing to brag about if I recall. I don't find many other game's PvP much fun, WoW always got it right.
Did you read and understand our guidelines on character names, listed at the beginning of this application? (Please note, if your name does not fall within our guidelines and you do not want to do a name change, you are more than welcome to apply under a different character.)
-I did, I was a little concerned that Hannibhal might have been a little too much. I don't plan on playing a cannibal but the name was around before the books and movies although spelled different, I just enjoy the name a lot. I suppose I could go for a name change if absolutely needed
How is your computer performance when playing World of Warcraft? What is your FPS/load times during heavy graphical or high population times? Is your internet connection stable?
-I have 50meg down, I haven't clocked it in a raid or in a while. Hex core processor, 12gig Ram, with an archieve drive for safety sakes. It's custom that I built myself and it's GFX card is a little dated, 660Ti Geforcee NVidia 2gigs of video memory. It handles without issue
Provide an armory link to your character.
-Apologies, but for some reason I do not show up under there. I have mostly Heirloom gear that's cosmetically altered. I did recently transfer Sunday and I may not show up just yet.
What days/times do you typically play this character?
-After 7pm CST on Weekdays til midnight and whenever on Weekends mostly until 1 or 3AM CST
Have you read the Required Reading? Do you have any questions or concerns about anything there?
-Yes, it seems very standard for the level of guild you are running
Have you read the Mandate? Do you have any questions or concerns about it? Can your character live by it?
-Yes, it also seems more than standard for the level of guild you are running
Do you have anything further to add?
-Don't hate me for being former Ally! :O
