Grim Application For Fixins
How did you hear about The Grim?
-Personal experience, random heroics, LFR.. The Grim has caught my eye. I've always found members of The Grim to be helpful and more importantly- knowledgeable.. And happy to help when approached correctly.
What experience do you have with internet forums? Do you check them frequently or infrequently?
-I check daily or sometimes twice. Never been much of a lurker.
What sort of role-playing experience do you have? Would you consider yourself a beginner or Gary Gygax?
-I would consider myself more of a Weis/Hickman. More of a reader. (currently: Avatar Trilogy book 2, Time of Troubles is nuts!)
The Grim are considered a Lawful Evil guild. Do you have any experience playing a character of this alignment or a character archetype that believes in structure with evil intent?
-I play D&D with bi-monthly group of 21-35 year old gamers. One of my characters is Lawful/Evil: Milowen Crestfel, a Fallen Paladin, in service to the Church of Bane. This is the extent of my experience playing this alignment, though. (I roleplay chaotic/evil on Project1999, Dark Elf Rogue (just got my Ragebringer!))
Have you been part of any other guilds in World of Warcraft? If so, who were they and what server do or did they reside on? Let us know of your experience with them and what made you decide to either leave or continue to stay.
-<DST> (BC-WotLK) 10-15 IRL friends have been in this guild with me over the years, they taught me to raid. I started out as a non-raiding member and quickly worked my way up to leading a ToC-10 Heroic, and OS3D 10/25 weekly. I decided to take a break from gaming for Cataclysm. During this time <DST>'s membership waned and it was absorbed by <Pango Honoratus>.
-<Pango Honoratus> (MoP) Inactivity of RL friends left me feeling a stranger in a strange land. Also didn't agree with new loot system. ("Council of Loot" short version: Apply for loot before it drops ..not making this up)
-<Annunaki>/<Dont Stand There> (WotLK) I have to give the guys who were in these guilds some credit for banding together with me back in Wrath for hardmodes and my first few OS3D kills. I miss this team of superfreaks so much.
Are you applying on an alt (non-main) character? If so, what are you looking for here that you are not getting from your main character? If you are feeling honest or adventurous, please let us know who your main is.
-Fixins is my main.. (i have a level 90 profession slot paladin 600 miner/blacksmith.. not interested in gearing)
What are your expectations for your character after joining The Grim. What aspect of the game, if any, do you wish to focus on?
-In a perfect world, all raids in the game locked each week and a pile of corpses in Vale of Eternal Blossoms to stand upon as I look at my conquest. Realistically, I would like to get some end game raiding done. I am also an avid transmogger and mount hunter. I am looking for some like-minded folks to run old world raid achievements also. I love helping people get their cheese!
What is your PvE (player-versus-environment) experience in World of Warcraft? What classes and roles do you enjoy the most in a raid environment? Do you have any PvE experience from other MMO games?
-WoW- MoP- Rogue Raid Finder, couple of 10m bosses.
Pre-MoP- Rogue -All bosses up to ICC25. did heroic ToC and ULD Hardmodes
Paladin- MT'd or OT'd all of ICC25 and ToC10-25, some Heroic Bosses
What is your PvP (player-versus-player) experience in World of Warcraft? What classes and roles do you enjoy the most in a PvP environment? Do you have any PvP experience in other MMO games?
-In MoP I have only BG'd enough to get the transmog pieces I've wanted, or to gain some quick justice points for those last couple item upgrades. World PvP is where my heart is at, I am enjoying the new Krasarang Wilds dailies very much. Once I have finished my dailies, Raid Finder cleared, and valor capped.. i just sit in Krasarang and kill.
What is your regular World of Warcraft play schedule? If your answer is "anytime", "flexible", or some other vague word please describe why. Our scheduled interview times are 8pm on Monday and 10am on Wednesdays. Can you make either of those times?
-I am available for any interview time. I typically play wow very early, take a break for a couple hours in the afternoon, then I am on til late. I am available weekends at night also, but I will usually be spending time with my family during the day.
How is your computer performance when playing World of Warcraft? What is your FPS/load times during heavy graphical or high population times? Is your internet connection stable?
-very fast, premium internet. fps stays in the 50s.. think i need a bigger power supply :E
