Sizzlespark

Unread post by Sizzlespark »

**Special note- Sizzlespark currently is not fluent in any commonly known language other than sign language, and has brought a goblin translator to assist. Because I also am an immersive RPer, I am roleplaying out her learning Orcish and expect it to take a bit of time. I already ran this past Qarosimae before submitting this application. Thanks.

(IC) What name or title do you go by?

I am Sizzlespark.
-

(IC) What is your gender and race?

I am female goblin.
-

(IC) What is your class in life? Why did you choose to follow this class?

*Sizzle squinted her face in concentration before looking to the translator she had brought with her. The two of them gestured rapidly between one another, speaking in sign language. Finally the translator spoke up on her behalf.* "Sizzle doesn't speak Orcish so good yet. She says she's a rogue, a path she follows as a means to an end."
-

(IC) How many "Honorable" Kills do the Battlemasters currently have recorded for you?
-
Sizzle furrowed her brow and gestured. "Soon," relayed the translator. "She hasn't been around here very long, she hasn't come across any Alliance yet. But she will.."

(IC) What drives you in life? How would the Grim benefit from having you among its ranks?
-
After gesturing with Sizzle, the goblin turned. "She says she's dedicated, and follows orders well. Once she learns enough to understand more, she'll be a huge asset. In the meantime, she'll be working hard to learn as quickly as she can, and improve her fighting prowess." Sizzlespark was nodding emphatically as the goblin explained.

(IC) What did you do prior to The Grim?
-
When the goblin communicated this question to Sizzle, her look darkened.
"Oh." The goblin said, after she signed back to him. "She says she doesn't like to talk to it a lot, but it had to do with being take from the Stranglethorn area when she was very young by some humans. She's escaped not too long ago. Guess that explains the language barrier. And a score to settle." A sharp smirk cut through the goblin's face.

(IC) What are your thoughts of the new direction the Horde has taken since the Cataclysm?
-
"She doesn't know enough about it, yet." Explained the translator. "It'll be part of her studies."

(OOC) The Grim is a role-playing guild that requires full immersion (heavy RP) of their members. What does that mean to you?
-
I love role-playing, and going through the struggles of working through the language barrier and learning completely in character is a huge challenge, but one I'm enjoying immensely. I try to be in character at all times (save for when I'm questing, currently.. since Sizzle wouldn't understand what's being asked of her just yet.) I do spend a fair amount of time in Orgimmar looking for RP when I'm not questing, though.

(OOC) The Grim are considered a Lawful Evil guild, ruled by a structure with the intent to see the complete annihilation of their enemies. Does this definition conflict with how you want to play your character? If it does, how do you expect to handle the conflict with other members?
-
No it doesn't. I imagine by the time I'm high enough level to participate in a lot of PVP, Sizzle will know enough Orcish to be able to follow and carry out orders well.

(OOC) What sort of role-playing experience do you have, online or off-line? Do you consider yourself a beginner or Gary Gygax?
-
I've been RPing in various games since I was a kid, between tabletop dungeons and dragons to other online RPGs.

(OOC) Is this character a server-transfer or has it been renamed recently? If so, what was your previous server and/or in-game name?
-
No

(OOC) What are you, the player, looking for in the Grim? What are your expectations of the guild?
-
I'm looking for a guild with a very strong focus on RP and world PvP.

(OOC) When joining the Grim, each new applicant will be matched up with someone to help them get into the swing of being Grim. In order to coordinate this, we will need to have a fair approximation of your play schedule. Please give a general outline below, OR if you wish to keep it private, send a PM to Thalevia.
-
The best time for me is Saturdays and Sundays during the day. I'm around off and on during the week, but don't always have time to really sit down and focus on the game for long periods of time.

(OOC) Please provide an armory link to your character for verification.

(IC/OOC) Do you have anything further to add?
-
The main thing is just that she doesn't know Orcish (or even Goblin) yet, so communication will be a bit of a struggle in the early weeks. I'm very firm in learning slowly in character at a reasonable pace, but I feel that just makes things more interesting to RP out. Until she is able to speak more of the language, holding a conversation with her may be difficult, but as I mentioned- by the time she gets high enough level to be able to participate in more guild activity, she should be more fluent. And I have no doubt she will be able to uphold The Grim mandate of Peace Through Annihilation.
