holy crap that's crazy... wonder how bad they'll nerf that knockback.

it was 200 yards at first (possibly a bug), then down to 5, then up to 6, then further up recently to 20 (pretty sure)

Hehe, note to self: Watch the terrain.  Yeah, I've heard it's 20 on Thunderstorm as well.  Blast Wave is 10-15-ish?  Not as far, but enough to be annoying in PvE.

what's the cast time? I noticed that in the video they are lining up for the shaman... doesn't look like a battle type scenario. the bridge in AV just got more interesting.

Instant cast, 45 second cooldown at the moment on Thunderstorm, I believe.  As far as AoE knockbacks, Blast Wave costs considerably fewer points and doesn't knock back as far, but has a shorter cooldown.  I don't know if there are others?  Thunderstorm is the 51 point end of the line Elemental talent, though.  It also gives a mana return instead of having a mana cost.

sucks though that thunderstorm is really pvp.  i won't be using it overmuch in pve except in raids where there are no mobs nearby so i can get just a little more mana back

pretty cool though that like water shield, it costs nothing to put up and gives back mana and is instant

Thunderstorm is awesome.  There needs no description or function to its awesomeness.

It's also going to be an 8% mana return on cast--pretty hot for raiding, if you ask me.

yeah well... just like shaman have to learn to pick that damn searing totem up if they were fool-hardy enough to use it in the first place, shaman better make damn sure they stand in the right place before they use it  ;D

not that there will be many full elementals raiding/delving with us

I missed the bit where you talked about what you are switching to. Kharzak? Not Elemental? The world is shattering about me.

I may respec to elemental for a few hours just to go to places like Netherstorm.

Ya...there's not much to land on once you get knocked over the edge there.

(Ok..so the idea is better in principal, cause Netherstorm will likely be empty when Wrath comes out, but you get the idea....watch that first step, it's a doozy)

Actually, the more I think about it and discuss it with Greebnub, the more I think they will have to nerf this  :(

The game was just not made with the idea of allowing knockback.

For example, in EOTS off a bridge, it's pretty much instant death.  In Netherstorm it's instant death AND you will need to take the angel to res, for special bonus repair costs!  (Remember, it's not a PVP death if you died by falling...)

Wonder how they will handle that.  I can't be the only one to think of this, do any of you know how this will be addressed?

(Too lazy to read the forums)

Agreed. As soon as i saw mention of knock backs it concerned me.  In a straight up fight its not going to end the world, but its perfect for assholes to gank other players. Hell that video kharzak showed is a prime example.
