2009 Grim Camping Trip/ Get Together

Unread post by Syreenna »

Does everyone want the camping trip to be in the same place as the last two years, or somewhere else?

Do we want to do another camping trip, or something different?

I am not at all opposed to traveling somewhere new. (I've done the campout in the same area a total of seven times now with two different computer game groups.  Trust me, I would NOT mind going somewhere new.)  I just have concerns about planning a trip and a week's agenda in a place I'm not familiar with.

All you people who complained about the location the last two years....anyone want to plan the trip in the place of their choice for the next one?

something central to most people would be awesome... though that might be the current location.

I was speaking about this to Coyotl, Frain, and Necrosis.  Having it in the San Diego would be interesting... only issue with that is, if we are camping then we have to travel a little further north.  The weather is a lot more nice, it's probably not going to rain... but, will the people on the east coast who have gone to the last two going to be able to make it this time around?

Then, what about the folks that couldn't?  Who would make it to San Diego?  I can start looking into some details for you, Syreena - so it's more fact and less talk.  San Diego (and LA I guess) has *a lot* to do.  While I know we'd all be happy to sit around and get drunk, there are a few more options... just these options do cost more money.

Also, California always has booze to buy, unlike the Republic of Amishland.

There is also Mexican food!  Woo!

I prefer last year's location or a new one in that area as driving/flying to the west coast does not sound fun to me at all.  Or we can do Vegas.

Yummy!  I'm in!

Camping is usually cheaper, but we can probably find decent deals on hotels too.

I've never been to CA.  I've heard strange people are from there.   ;D

WOOO MEXICAN FOOD!!!

Needed to be said. Mexican food is about my favourite group of food and you could buy that stuff on the side of the road in San Diego and it was still raw sex in tasty food form!

Very unlikely I'd make it to anywhere that wasn't within a 300 mile radius of me or so.

tex-mex vs cal-mex fight

two migrant cuisines enter, one migrant cuisine leaves.

Anyway, I vote for Saranac lake in upstate NY.

Or y'all get passports and fly in to sunny tropical Montreal, yeah! 10% of you can't be wrong.

You are going to the wrong places if this is how you truly feel.

I'll conceed that point. Problem is there's a lot of packaged crap over here that gets coined "tex mex" and its awful.

that's because you're over there... only place for tex-mex is Texas.

even New Mexico has a different taste. Colorado, forget about it. I would think Cali has good mariscos type stuff though.

Mexican food is gross. Give me a nice steak or a good ol fashion cheeseburger.
