Music recommendations

So I have been going through my itunes a lot lately only to realize that my music list is very old and a lot of the stuff hasn't changed since high school.  It's just migrated from radio to cassette tape (yes cassette) to CD to digital format without any real change in what I have.

I need a wider variety of stuff to pull from and since I loath listening to modern radio(yay most of it sucks) I turn to you guys for some music suggestions.

I'll put in a song on my own when I get home since I am using this mostly as a way to kill time while I wait for my bus but what I am looking for are song suggestions, any type, that you think are great.  Links to said song are preferred verses you just posting a name and lyrics.

Emmons, so help me if you post Never gonna give you up, I will fly to where you are and lynch you.

Here are my recommendations:

Muse - Knights of Cydonia  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jV1bRfLHA3A
        - Starlight  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q-c94VVU7zc
Flobots - Handlebars  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AuK2A1ZqoWs
          - We are Winning  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=exmp6NQ0et8
          -  Rise  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sCwhok5 ... re=related

You know what, just about anything by the above 2 artists, I really like them both.

Rolling Stones - She's a Rainbow  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oHg5SJYRHA0

Somewhat old, but been stuck in my head all day.

And if you like Dance/Electornica music, I've taken a real liking to Basshunter lately

Basshunter - All I Ever Wanted  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sE7W8FFSKRE

Any type of music, Thal?  Hmm.  I'll see what I can do.  I know Abric bugged me about the same thing last week too.

Pretty much any type.  I have a pretty wide range of stuff I like and while I may hate a band, I usually do like at least one song of theirs.  For example, I am not a big Ozzy fan in any way shape or form yet I do have one of his songs on my itunes.  Same goes for Celine Dion.  I fucking hate Celine Dion but the song of hers written by Jim Steinman is one I do like.

I don't know if you like things like Disturbed or maybe Megadeth, so I will keep something soft here

*super quiet voice* pssst....the new Madonna is some really fun stuff to listen too. She went more old school, and her voice sounds great.

*runs away in shame*

I will admit to being a bit of a music snob and elitist (my wife says that me and my friends should have been cast in High Fidelity).  That being said, you have given us very little to go on as far as what you like.  I know very little about metal/hard rock so I will give you some non-headbanging artists.

From the Indy side of things:
Josh Ritter - Girl in the War:  http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=kqLssKusGzM
Spoon - I Turn my Camera On:  http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=ro95Ns58qSE
Bright Eyes - First Day of my Life:  http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=zwFS69nA-1w

Modern pop music...I don't really know much pop music:
Brandi Carlisle - The Story:  http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=xq-ZmAYLeB8
Kate Perry - I Kissed a Girl (just because its so catchy):  http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=a1Y8utsY6LY

Because I love Motown:
Jamie Lidell - Another Day:  http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=89Qa5rNAeEs

I have more...lots more.  My tastes tend toward folk, funk, and indy rock.  What do you like and it may help people make recommendations.
