The official website says that if you get this error that you really should try again (immediately). Rather than a queue system like WoW they just throw 37 at you.

Error 37 has since been slain but with my Collector's Edition in hand at 12:15 am the game already pre-installed I was looking to play... not create a macro to type in my password and hit enter twice and mash that for 30-40 mins.
You'd think by now, after all the other launches that Blizzard would have figured out that people REALLY REALLY want to play their new games instantly and have some sort of launch fiasco plan. Perhaps that's all too technical for me to understand.
Oh well.

I couldn't agree more. After Wrath of The Liche King I no longer even attempt to login during launch.

slept in, got online around 12 noon EST, and still logged in and able to play at 330 EST. However, coy DC'd when we went to get food and now can't get back in. Now I just relax and listen to folks complain on General chat. It is rather amusing.

Don't forget that lovely bug that if you play Demon Hunter and get a Templar companion and change his shield it DC's you and prevents you from logging back in!

started running the install set up after work and it pretty much just sits there trying to update the set up files. i imagine that it's going to be like this for a while so probably no game for me today

I logged in this morning and got to level 5 or so before going to work. Luckily D3 is only a time waster app for me. If I don't log in for another month, no biggie.
