Update Failed!

I keep getting this message when I download the patch and hit 10 percent.  Typically I get a message saying I need to give it permission to download, do so and never have any problems.  I don't see anything on the forums that points at what the reasoning could be.  Anyone run into this problem?

Recently my updates have been failing as well, with permission issues.  I just relaunch WoW using "Run as Administrator" and everything works fine.  Note that the user I am usually logged on with is part of the administrators group, but apparently that's not enough for WoW.

You using Windows Vista or 7, Malstrom?  Since I've been playing around with some other games (Starcraft 2, Diablo 2, Total War) I've been seeing some issues concerning Vista and 7 when it comes to games that have been made quite a few years ago.  I guess, on general, things need to be run as admin for whatever reason ... or in XP compatibility mode.  This is what I've read, of course - as my PC (before it decided to give me the middle finger) still uses XP.

Or, because most of the games I started are really Blizzard products - maybe their Mac guys are starting an uprising and hating on Windows Vista and 7.  Hm... and come to think of it, I see a lot less of Grainger lately.  UPRISING!

If they would just make linux game-friendly I would never have these problems...
