What sort of programs out there can I get that will allow me to get all the videos out there in the world downloaded and in a format that I can send to others?
... I know there is still out there like bitorrent, kazaa, limewire, or whatever else has taken over for that - but I'm looking to be able to do it myself. Unless, of course, it's for smart people. Then, I need to know what is the newest and most stable P2P program so I can get other peoples hard work.
Got videos to send out to the guys at the ship, but everywhere I go - it's just streaming.

You ask a tricky question, padwan. Do you want to send videos to your friends? Or do you want to download them yourself? Torrent still rule the roost as far as p2p is concerned. I use utorrent and google.

Re: "Acquiring" Videos on the Interwebs
he is looking for a program that will take flash and make it into mpg(I think)... the only one I know of is real player.. but that was from way back in the day.
there must be somthing better by now.
if you are looking for sites to find videos . I dont like p2p I think the you tube type sites are better
try hulu.com for nbc and some other stuff has ads in the video.
also I know ninjavideos has a lot of stuff. (they told me that it is 100 legel

Re: "Acquiring" Videos on the Interwebs
This is true, Gurthoira - but I don't have to find them... I have to have them. Either in .wmv, .avi, .mpv4, or whatever format a video can come in to play on Real Player, Windows Media Player, or Quicktime.
on ships, you can't do streaming... just too much bandwidth. Now, with streaming videos being easy for people with the connection... it's hard to find the downloaded one.

If you're looking for actual movies or TV, your best bet is to get a good bittorrent client - I use BitComet - and then hit either http://www.thepiratebay.org or http://mininova.org, do your search, find your movie, and download your torrent.Abric wrote: This is true, Gurthoira - but I don't have to find them... If you specifically want YouTube or other streamed FLV video downloaded directly to AVI format, try http://www.youtubeavi.com/ - it'll convert the FLV to an AVI file and download it, and from there you can burn it to DVD or send it out directly.
