Reason I haven't been around is, my PC is crapping out, and my parents gave me a new PC as a gift which I didn't have much of a say in (they just told me they bought one and it came in the mail today)...

It's a Quad with all the default specs, so now I have to upgrade it. Anyone here have any ideas on how to go about making this WoW-worthy, and then some more? Think my biggest problem is what parts will or won't fit in that chassis.

Re: Help Me Upgrade
All you really need is a new graphics card, the integrated Intel GMA chipset is no good for games.
From the customize page you can get an ATI HD 4350 card so we know the machine supports that. Its cheap too $40 on newegg.com. The 4350 will run WoW fine. Its a little low for some other high demand games and if you can stretch to $200 for the graphics card you'll get something that will run every game that's on the market right now.

Re: Help Me Upgrade
I was thinking a 4850 but will need to upgrade that power supply as well (it's only 300W). Is there any way to find out what psu will be compatible with this system?
Re: Help Me Upgrade
Most psu's are going to be compatible with the motherboard, a bit of research (and pulling the case open) will show you what connectors the machine needs.
Whether it will fit in the case is another matter entirely. Again, open it up and see the mounting space you've got for an upgrade. If they used an off-the-shelf psu then you should be fine they're all pretty much the same size. If Dell created some custom fit jobbie though its going to be a right pain the replace.
