Funny you should mention that.  Brann is apparently voiced by an actor who normally plays princesses.  And Ivy from Soul Caliber.  And the succubus/banshee's in game.

If by "real dwarf" you mean "worst faux-Scottish accent on the planet," then yes, you're right. The Halls of Stone event is so painful because of his terrible, terrible voice talent.
