So Bioware recently ran a contest for the new DA companion novel written by David Gaider, the head writer for the DA games. I'm still kicking myself for not having entered but its all done now and winners were chosen. Because Gaider was tasked with judging the final entries, he sat down with the writing staff of DA to comb through them all and as a result offers some great tips for beginning writers of things he consistently saw repeated in the stories submitted.

Fun fact, the only reasons I didn't enter myself was I couldn't come up with a decent story idea. I finished up an academic conference this weekend and spewed out a 12 page 12pt font single spaced story beginning sunday in under a couple hours. Needless to say I am a little irritated but oh well.
